The campanulas have never been nicer. They have self sewn in the best spots for showing off. This bee balm I purchased just recently because of the unique pink color. I’ve never had good luck with this perennial but hopefully I will be able to enjoy it for this season. The mock orange bushes is beautiful and fragrant. I lost one bush and think I need to find a replacement. I love the airy habit, white flowers and fragrance. The asiatic lilies are just beginning to bloom. I have a large old soap stone tub full of them and have begun scattering them around the yard. The hostas have engulfed a few as they have reached their maturity. This is one of the mid season day lilies. I love it’s reddish hue. A little clump of sunshine The blaze rose is always up in the air. I am so happy I took cuttings years ago so I have two of this brilliant flower in the yard. The patches of color are always helpful when overwhelmed with with gardening chores.
I love your yard Jewell! Actually, 'yard' is much too much a mundane word for it. 'Paradise' is more like it! That campanula is gorgeous! Question: do you have trouble with the red lily beetle? I love the shot of that Asiatic lily with a hosta leaf "hat"! Good luck with your new attempt with beebalm! The pink color is great. I too have had trouble with that perennial. In my case, it runs all over the place but thinly, not in an appreciable block. I wind up pulling it out endlessly. A friend, though gave me a division of a purple beebalm. I don't know its name. It does not travel, doesn't get that white mold, & is very pretty & mannerly.
You are too kind CM, but you keep me going. I tend to only see the flaws and weeds and work that needs to be accomplished. Always charging from one part of the yard to the other Silly me. Slugs have been the only problem that bothers the lilies and if I keep cedar bark in the paths that appears to solve that problem. Although with the weather changes I noticed snails. Hope the cedar works as well with them. The Campanella did a nice job last year of seeding itself. My job tends to be selectively weeding both it and the foxgloves. As the yard/weather changes I am looking at whether or not to move and divide plants. That can definitely wait, since it will be muscle work. Who needs a gym membership when you have a garden Glad you have found a bee balm that works for you. Plants from neighbors and friends are always the best
Totally in love with those flowers that you've shown. You are having some kinda success aren't you. I completely second what Cayu said!
