Similar problems over here too... Some people (listening to ultra religious internet conspiracy theory websites) - Started believing that the government will now secretly have them all euthanized in quarantine camps set up across the country.

One such crazy person (obviously from an ultra orthodox religious background) even stabbed a cop with a knife, straight in the chest! A cop who was only trying to help him, (cop however survived)...

Anyhow, that "genius" was eventually caught a few hundred kilometers away, but 2 days later. So God only knows how many more people he has infected while on the run.

We now have had two Health Ministers abusing the self-isolation and unnecessary travel regulations. One from Scotland and the other from New Zealand, both have had to resign.

What is it with these people?

Did they think these rules don't apply to them?

Doesn't give you much confidence does it?

Oh I'm fine Carolyn. Everything else is also fine. And no more security concerns either, (will tell you on private message what I did). :D

Back here again, as I have time to relax during this global lockdown.

I was actually preparing for this exact same situation since the last 2 years. I had an inkling, that a global pandemic will be started, one way, or another...

    https://people.com/crime/why-cdc-scientist-timothy-cunningham-missing-unusual/

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-43658329

Therefore, in light of that news 2 years ago, (links above). I just took it as a wake up call. A sign from the universe, that now the era of this type of a headache will start any time, from anywhere. I honestly did not even bother trying to attach conspiracy theories to it. As I already knew that they too would be neither here nor there.

So, that's why I just prepared for the worst. Everybody continued to laugh at me, some directly at my face. While others behind my back, (all the time thinking that I didn't notice)...

But right now I am the one in comfort, laughing. While they are among the ones crying!

    :snicker:  :smt044

Anyhow, I am back here. On Garden Stew :stew1: ready to assist in whatever way possible! As all of you guys had ALWAYS been extra nice to me. :D

With reports in the news of Boris's condition, I noticed that multi-millionaire Cameron was looking for some "personal positive spin." Yeah! he's the one who committed us to a disproprtionate amount of money to foreign aid, much of which goes into doubtful projects and urged the public to protect his "legacy" the arrogant numpty.
Less spent on foreign aid and more on the NHS would have been a better legacy.

Its not such a big deal here since we are in a fairly rural county ! Although I will miss not picking out my own foods ! Our grocery store has a call in service which I will use ! Call in,,give them your list,, they deliver to your car,,all you need to do is hand them your credit card !
I do not have time to get bored or go stir-crazy ! We have 30 acres here and another 30 down the road 1/2 mile with two ponds stocked with fish ! Will not go hungry ! Planning to do some container gardening !

Glad most are doing well. Carolyn, such a lovely offer. Wish I needed something but with a second gardener moving in last summer my yard, garden and house is overcome with plants and plant starts.

Although I miss my travel plans (both my husband had to cancel several trips) I am taking the opportunity to do gardening and yard revamping I didn’t know I wanted to do.

Guess I am weird, but I consider this pandemic a time of reflection and renewal, even a bit of a blessing for the planet. Smog has cleared, rivers are running clearer and the planet has had some interesting changes. A time to take a breath.

My experiences seem to show that people who live in fear and anger might find it reflected back at them. I grew up in small communities that were totally self-sufficient. They grew or raised ALL their own food. It was a very subsistence lifestyle. Not many today understand what that lifestyle entails.

Preppers always amuse me with their beliefs that they can weather the storm (whatever it might be: zombies, viruses, etc.) alone with guns and stockpiles of can goods. We have hopefully evolve past that mindset, or not.

I am encouraged by the caring, and sharing demonstrated in my community and state. The governors supporting each other with sharing resources. Governors and mayors caring more about those with compromised health conditions, listening to experts and making really tough decisions is all encouraging to me.

Many people are finding ways to share, help each other and stay in positive contact. The later is working well for me and my family. We all seem more appreciative of each other. Life is really good. I believe it has given each of us an appreciation that wasn’t quite so evident before.

Am happy everyone here at the Stew is vibrant, feisty and ready to live with gusto. Cheers to you all as I go build new shelving units to fit the over abundance of plants in the house.

Seems like they may be isolating you because maybe you are at risk?
My son works at the hospital and among the professionals there is talk that maybe the virus is adapting/evolving. Who knows?

How do you determine who is at risk and who is not? Many older people have not even been infected, some infected, got sick and have recovered completely and some younger people are contracting it and dying, the list of deaths include people of all ages and many with no underlying health problems.
If you come in contact with one of the small number of people who have the virus but are not showing symptoms, how would you know. You wouldn't before you passed it on to someone else.

I do Jewell,, thats how I grew up ! Even though we lived on the outskirts of Dallas which was country back then ! We milked cows, had our garden, had chickens and killed a hog once a year ! We had our own smokehouse,, cured hams and bacon and very little was purchased other than flour, cornmeal ,peanut butter and my granddads Post Toasties and Nabisco Shredded Wheat ! There were always a few odds and ends we didn`t grow or make !
