When I'm driving I tend to notice on occasions what I consider to be really poor examples of marketing. Having spent some time in advertising and sales promotion in my career, to me it's obvious what you need to get across in a very short space of time. "Who you are, what you do and have a readable phone number or website address." The latter is a common problem, but even "what they do" can appear to be unclear. However there are often some excellent examples of marketing, a few can put a smile on your face, like these two posted on another board.
Better to be like a king on the sofa all the time. Instead of always being over the porcelain throne, (if you know what I mean).
Effective marketing is all about clarity and grabbing attention quickly. It's frustrating when businesses miss the mark with unclear messaging. But you're right. There are some gems out there that make you smile and get the message across. It's those clever ones that stick in your mind.
