That first foto caught my attention. Where was that taken? As for the hiking foto’s— well, the landscapes were impressive to see. I like the roughness of the terrain. The troubled skies, the clouds and the exposed stones. I guess that it was not all the same day, is that right? I saw that on that last foto that there were other folks sitting out in the weeds off to the side. Did you two go hiking with them, or were they on their own escape to the country stroll? When my Bride and I were travelling in the states we did hiking wherever and whenever we could. I don’t think we hiked in your area but we did go to a couple of places in Connecticut. One place neat Lyme and another one which I just cannot remember. The pics of you guys on those paths and steps in the woods made me think of those hikes. Great foto spread, mate.
Thanks. It's been a lot of fun. The last photo is of our friends on Mount Major in NH. They go hiking with us sometimes. She is recently retired and since the pandemic, a bit bored. They are glad to get out. The other photos were from Mount Chocorua (NH) and the Middle Sister ( the waterfall one). That was a very wet hike! I don't know if we'll be able to keep the hiking up in the cold and snow. Vamos a ver.
No places to indulge in a little fishing nearby? I find that fishing is one activity which can be just as interesting as hiking. Each has something to offer which the other activity doesn't - So I was just wondering how it be like, if hiking and fishing happened in the same day?
I used to fish the pond at our farm. It was indeed relaxing. Maybe next summer! For now, our lakes and pond are about to freeze. But good idea. Do you fish S-H?
No ponds here, river is also way too far away, (and mostly dry for about 9 to 10 months of the year, except for the rainy monsoon season). However yes, I often do indulge in beach fishing. As I have access to the ocean. It is my experience that saltwater fish tastes a lot better than freshwater fish - Ocean fish also have far less bones. But you know what? During covid-19 lockdowns, all beaches were closed to public also...
Am blessed with more hiking trails and nature areas than I have been able to get to. Hiking weekly throughout the summer and fall
Jewell, we got microspikes so we could continue hiking. I can't believe how safe they feel. I swear i could walk up a wall in them. Like a fly.
I got some for my shoes last winter when I tried snowshoeing and was going to do more winter hiking. Will have to pull them out for this winter.
