Good Thursday morning all. Currently -4°C and snowing.
As if the snow wasn't enough to make me grumpy, I woke up to the news of yet another Provincial lockdown. :smt076
This will be the 3rd time the Premier has shut down the entire province because of rising Covid cases in the big city. For those of us that live north of the city, have been following all the rules for over a year, have already been locked down twice and have no cases in our communities, this is infuriating me. Just this week, I stepped foot in a store other than a grocery store for the first time since March 2020. I am just about to go back to work, and start seeing my family again. My daughter was just starting to train again and although I had to wait out in the car, she was at least SKATING again. The worst part is that living up in cottage country, this is where all the city folk come when these lockdowns happen, overwhelming our stores and not following protocols. Oh and they are banning families getting together for Easter dinner starting Saturday. I am beyond angry today. And I can't even play in my garden because its snowing! I guess Easter dinner will have to be Friday and then I can wallow in my unhappiness lol
Have a great day all :)

    Good Friday morning all, literally!
Currently -5°C and sunny. I had a lovely dog walk this morning and then came home to put my turkey in cold water. I moved ahead our dinner a day so I just want to make sure it is completely thawed. The kids and grandkids will be over later and I'm looking forward to it! It will also be our first meal on my Moms good dishes and the first time we have all gathered since her passing. Lots to do today and I couldn't be happier :rosy:
Have a great day all :)

Netty, it's so good to hear things are looking up for you. Enjoy your Easter dinner with family.
The guys at the feed store will be the death of me. They sell plant starts, seed potatoes, and onion sets. They stop by with a handful or small tray full of plants, etc. I keep telling them they are a business and should sell this, not give it away. Their excuse is that any excess I have goes to the food pantry, and since they don't garden it's my responsibility to plant and harvest and anyway, they like the cookies I bring them.
I really shouldn't complain because they are nice guys and quite generous.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently -1°C and sunny. We had a fabulous family dinner yesterday and today I've got to get to work.
My raised beds need topping and I want plant my onions, spinach, chard and carrots. There is also a lot of yardwork to do and wood to split and lots of other things so I'm going to be outside enjoying the nice weather and getting things done!
Have a great day all :)

We had chill factor of -2 this morning around 8.00 am and the wind gusts were 60 km/hr lowering throughout the day, luckily.... Yesterday we had a high of 23 degrees...wall to wall sunshine...shorts.. now hooded coat!

Dianne, are you sure you don't live in Texas? There is an old saying, "If you don't like the Texas weather, wait five minutes."
Sounds as if you are on the same see-saw as we are.
I harvested our first spring cuttings of asparagus this morning! We'll have our own asparagus with Easter dinner tomorrow. I was going to do more in the garden, but it was chilly and windy and the cat and I decided the small tasks could wait.

About the last three Springs have been changeable, we are still burning our logs of an evening as we have an old property with tiled floors and loose rugs the wall are around 75 cm thick so that does not let the heat in but keeps the inside cool..fine in the hot season.
I do not like the cold , having hashimotos disease tempreture is affected.....sounds exotic but it is actually fairly common and hereditary.
I know some of the USA ways just by speaking to other Hams in the various regions, but have only visited and lived in Spain and France so something I have missed out on. Yearn to visit Australia and New Zealand most of all.
Is asparagus grown easily?I enjoy growing courgettes, the flowers are nice and then the fast way the courgettes grow....do not want them to turn to marrows though...Have done quite a lot in the garden planting and weeding...
    Enjoy your Easter Dinner...

This afternoon it was sunny but a cool breeze from the north east temp 6c
Haven't done much today, used to see my friend Keith but he passed away last October from a heart attack, he had problems with his leg, he was supposed to have checkups but the hospital wasn't doing them because of Covid.
If it was warmer outside I would have done some gardening.
    take care everyone.

It's been a nice day and should be on Sunday, but a lttle colder, around 12c here, but I'll get some jobs done in the garden. Dry again on Monday, but possibly down to 6c.
