What have you done today in the Garden?

That was a really friendly post and I sure others will think so as well. Sounds like you are having some good varieties of life, not just in your own garden. A good way is that...

 

Yeah, it was a comical moment, Cayu...and then the irony at the end. Pure madness. hee, hee, hee....oh dear. I think that if our neighbour gardeners had heard us they would have doubled- up with laughter.

 

CM, thanks for the kind words. it was really fly by the seat of my pants presentations both times. the secondone was truly... no outline, no agenda. nothing. an hours of babbling....

Love the aerial view of the land. It would be great if each of us could
do likewise.
I'm a bit disappointed with my seedlings. I didn't use a gro-lite this
year. My mistake. Most of the plants are very leggy. Also I started
too early. The seedlings cannot be put in the garden until frost
isn't threatened. Live and learn. We d have onions up, carrots peeping above the soil. We're eating Kale which came back with gusto.

 

Hedgehog House 1st one made from bits and bobs....by my one an only clever
Husband. A brick or rock goes in front of the entrance to stop anything else larger
from trying to use it. When we get around to buying then putting up a wildlife camera it is going to be very exciting I am sure of that....maybe out with the plastic roof and in the roof felt....purely for looks...as I don't think the hedgehogs worry much about the decor....

That's great @DianneWoollie it needs a tunnel at the front entrance, but I'm really impressed.

 

Planted 2 pots of hyacinths in the garden and deadheaded that was in the garden, haven't had much time to do anything else.

 

So glad you told me...ok I should have looked and planned better, instead gave Husband the orders and he who does obey, made to my specs....
p.s. sure he can add a tunnel...

 

If you could find a large pipe to fit into the front,but still wide enough. hubby went to the DIY place to get one but it was a long piece so he had to cut it to length.

 

I s'ppose I could call this sort of gardening.



Apart fron the ten ornamental lights and three sets of fairy lights controlled by the switches behind the lounge curtains, we've seven PIR security lights around the house. Two on the front, spot and porch, two on the side of the house and three in the garden.



One of the two on the side of the house gave up the ghost a few days ago. They are of the same design, "specially made in China for B & Q."

Unfortunately, they aren't "specially made" any more.



So I decided to replace both. Instead of halogen I've gone for 60 watt conventional ES lamps. They're really just so I can find my way to the bins of a night from the front door. We don't use the door in the kitchen, the space in front of it is taken up by the necessary bins for non-recyclable, paper and plastic and glass we have to keep in the house.



I got the new lights on eBay, they are quite well made. Two for £36. They arrived this afternoon.

 

Took a Photo just now, you were 'talking outside lights'and I am almost sure these came from B & Q which we 1st had them in our Beddington, Surrey Home, over 30 years ago, where we built the Wick's Summerhouse Kit, because 1st Son turned up on our doorstep with his Spanish Holiday Romance..his first words done the trick though..Hello Grandad....so the lights where around that summerhouse that was purchased to ease our sudden extra occupants...

 

I transplanted cauliflower and Bok choy.

 

Today I harvested a few little potatoes, my first ever! Made me feel like I invented potatoes . Also pulled up my first garlic bulb.
Started some yellow squash and nasturtium seeds.

Your first harvest eh? Remember this feeling....nothing like it.
Mate, I get that feeling each year. It renders me to being almost child-like with my glee.
