We enjoy Midsommer Murders, although the writers need to step up their game. We usually know who did it after the first half-hour.
NCIS was a favorite, but then the story lines got all touchy-feely, and lost most of the appeal. Gibbs isn't cuddly!
We love Jeopardy, no matter who the guest host is (although Katie Curic was pretty lame) but that's because one or the other of us usually knows the answer. Husband fields the science questions, I take the literary ones. Lots of high-fives here during Jeopardy!

Well these days, specially when nobody has anything to do because of covid-19 -. Everybody in my part of the world is watching Ertugrul Ghazi.

It's the real life story (from about 800 years ago) of a historical figure named Ertugrul. Who was the son of a warlord chieftain, from a nomadic goat herding Turkish tribe called Kayi, symbol IYI...

All Ertugrul and his tribe ever wanted was to live in peace with everyone. Kayi tribe's source of income was their ability to make superior quality of carpets from the wool of sheep. And other crafts from animal skin.

But for one reason or another, everybody kept hounding them for no fault of their own. From the Byzantine Empire, to the Mongols, and even the Sultan of the early Islamic empire, didn't think Kayi people worthy of anything - So Kayi tribe had to fight against everyone for survival, without any help from anywhere else.

One day while hunting for food in the jungle, Ertugrul rescued a woman from a platoon of Byzantine soldiers, who were about to rape and kill her.

One thing lead to another, and this lady named Haleema eventually became Ertugrul's wife. After it was discovered that she was actually a princess in exile, who had lost everything because of traitors in her kingdom. This is why everyone instantly become Kayi tribe's enemy once more. As everyone started to fear what might happen, if Ertugrul's wife decided to reclaim her lost kingdom.

So this is the historically authentic account of Ertugrul and his wife Haleema. 2 people who didn't want any trouble with anyone, only desired to live in peace - But the entire known world had become their sworn enemy.

Later, grandchildren and great grandchildren of Ertugrul and Haleema would overthrew the Christian Byzantine Empire, and establish the Royal Islamic Turkish Ottoman Empire. Which later evolved into modern day Turkey!

And it all started because one man named Ertugrul and his tribe of goat harding Kayi people - Who were pushed too far by everyone. Forcing them to take up arms and become a waring tribe. Which taught everyone a lesson they would never forget.

Had it not been for this man and his wife, the entire map of the Middle East (as well as demographics) and my region too. Would have been completely different...

This TV show is often called the Islamic Game of Thrones, but without the dragons. And is one of the most historically accurate shows ever aired on TV. With over a billion and a half people now as fans. It is available online with English translation, as well as into Urdu, Russian, Indonesian, plus a few more, so that everyone can enjoy.

Another show which I am going to start watching soon, (as I just ordered the DVDs). Is Al Nihaya, meaning The End in Arabic. It's a scifi Egyptian TV series set 100 years in the future. In the year 2120.

It starts with a school teacher of history narrating a story to his students. About how just before the 100th anniversary of Israel's Independence, another country (not named directly but everyone can tell that it's Pakistan). Launches a nuclear attack on Israel as revenge, ending that country's existence completely.

Which eventually triggers something like a 3rd world war, where the map of the United States too is shown to be broken up into several new nations...

Now the whole world is run by oppressive cyborgs, who see humanity as their enemy. And one man then tries to save whatever normal people are left. But I think this man himself is a cyborg too, however his humanity suddenly awoke. And now he is going to lead a rebellion.

This show too will soon be available with English translation.

That looks good, I haven't watched Game of Thrones but wish that i did. Our son said that it was good but now it's so expensive to buy on DVD.

We don't watch much on TV at the moment, we watch a lot of YouTube.
But we've been watching Between the Lines, it's a old one and it's like Line Of Duty.
