Good Saturday morning all. Currently 20°C and overcast and fine mist coming from the sky. It rained a good part of the night, and the gardens are happy this morning.
I harvested some garlic scapes and rhubarb for my sister, and will drop it off on my way to see Dad this morning.
It may be an indoor chore kinda day today, as the rain is going to continue.
Have a great day all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 20°C and sunny. It is also very humid.
I had a good visit with Dad yesterday, then came home and did about 20 minutes of housework and then the rain ended.. I promptly went outside and planted all the flats of annuals that I had sitting around. I had been waiting for a rain so the ground would be wet when I planted them, and I had to wait almost a month! I also went out to the vegetable garden and got the last empty row weeded and some volunteer tomatillos transplanted and 10 more tomato plants in. Also a few perennials that I had sitting here. This afternoon we are expecting thunderstorms again so they will get watered in. This morning I hope to get the grass cut. Always so much to do!!
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all it's been raining again and not very warm.
Washed 3 of the doggy towels and hung them in the garage to dry, I open the back door and the up and over garage door to get a breeze blowing through but no breeze.
    Have a good day all.

You can have a choice between ice-cream, custard out of a tin or whipped cream.

Good Tuesday afternoon all. Currently 29°C feeling like 36°C.
It been a couple of hot and humid days, but weatherman says we will be getting a cold front today - starting some thunderstorms along the way.
    We really need the rain!
Took Sarge to the vet for his shots today, he did not enjoy the heat in town. Thankfully the AC is working in my car (I never use it) . He is now napping in front of a giant fan on the living room floor. Even his pool water is hot! Poor guy, he will probably sleep in the basement tonight.
Have a great night all :)

We can see your heat wave over here on the weather. It was shocking to see the yellow, orange and red schematics on the telly last night. We hope that it ill soon pass and you guys will cool off. Does this extreme heat have an effect on your work, Netty?

It is raining here so we will be cleaning the whole house today...and maybe I can get some posting done finally.

Sjoerd, as hot as it is here, it is even hotter in provinces to our west. There were some new records set in British Columbia 3 days running, for the hottest temperature EVER in Canada.
46.6°C on Sunday, 47.9°C on Monday, and 49.6°C on Tuesday. On Tuesday alone, seven locations in B.C. met or exceeded the 45 C mark, including Lytton, Cache Creek (47.4 C), Grand Forks (45 C), Kamloops (47.3 C), Kelowna (45.2 C), Lillooet (46.7 C) and Osoyoos (45 C). People out there don't get heat like this, and most don't even have air conditioners. Forest fires are now beginning. There are hundreds dead, it is a horrible situation.
I have been working my regular hours, and thankfully we had a good rain yesterday. I can only think of one day that I didn't go to work because of the heat. That was several years ago when our 'humidex' value was 45°C. I'm hoping that wont happen again!
I'm home from work, had dinner and now its time to relax. Have a great night all :)

Those are shocking temps for Canada. I certainly hope it will soon end. My heart goes out to those poor residents.

Good Thursday afternoon all. Currently 21°C and overcast.
The nightmare continues for western Canada. Lytton, the town that recorded Canadas hottest temperature ever, has burned. 90% of the town is gone from wildfires started from the extreme heat. The town was ordered evacuated earlier in the day, and within 15 minutes the town was completely engulfed in flames.
You can read more about it here https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-57678054
Mean while, the weather system that brought the extreme heat is moving east. It is currently over Saskatchewan and moving towards Manitoba. I'm not sure if it is still that hot, but it is heading towards Ontario. I'll be keeping an eye on that system as it moves east.
Prayers to all those affected by the extreme heat and wildfires.
Every day I wonder whats next.
