I asked my friends and neighbors and I think that they are just being nice, but I really do not like my black edging that I just installed. I had a three inch dark grey edging that you can still see in the pic if you zoom in on the other side of the sidewalk and it blends in perfectly. However the jet black 4 inch aluminum edging is all I could find since searching the internet they are out of stock everywhere and the seller said they are on back order for two months. I paid $700 for the jet black edging and would probably have to spend $2000 for the ripoff edging once it becomes back in stock but its a one time purchase in my mind. Please let me know if you think this edging looks bad. I do plan on changing some of the curves and leveling it out more but the jet black color just dominates my entire house IMO.

    EDIT

Thanks for the replies I have already removed it

That just looks totally out of place. Have a look at the way Doghouse Riley has done his edging.I have done something similar with ours. I would look for something which goes with the brick work on the house.
Well you did ask for honesty.

I agree with Palustris - I really don't like the black edging. Something more natural would look so much better. We have a stone built cottage and so incorporated natural stone into the garden for edging and surrounding the pond. Ties everything together nicely.

I think once the soil is up to level and planting done, it will look much better.
....I did vote no because I can see in time it will look ok, not as good as the grey though.

I voted no. It looks dodgy now, for sure, but once you have plants in place, it will probably look fine.

Thanks everyone :) Darn I didn't see the last two replies as I was busy removing it heh. I will wait and hopefully when they get the grey one in stock I can get my hands on it.

Yes sorry it was just everyone was telling me how it looks fine in real life and I felt like it didn't and once the first two posters said they didn't like it either I went ahead and removed the edging. I agree it won't be as noticeable once I level it out and add plants but I rather just wait for the edging I really want to do that with.
