The title of this thread is ambiguous, I know. Here a foto with; on the left, a smaller pic inserted. It illustrates a now and then situation. The small inserted tree foto was taken recently and the larger one was taken five years ago. I suspect that the hungry tree may be a beech. Cor, I almost imagine seeing the face of a winking person struggling to swallow the sign.
Good pics, Zigs. It is an amazing thing what trees can do. I have seen some remarkable things with trees that have grown in old ruins. They looked like melted brown candle wax.
Sjoerd your title described the tree to the teeth. Zigs your tree looks like it is taking a break sitting and leaning on the barrier. Nice photos.
Nice photos. I had one in my previous computer with an rusty car high up in a tree that grew through it somehow. I snagged it off of FB once. I had to replace my computer this fall, and don't know yet if my son can recover my files or not since he is always on the road trucking.
Those are interesting. If humans disappeared from the earth, the trees and other life would soon engulf the remains of our civilization.
Great photographs of interesting trees you two. Zigs the Hoverport in your photograph is probably the same as an abandoned quarry near us and has become a haven for wildlife.
I don't have a photo, but a few years ago we found a long lost mole trap - the tree it was hanging in had eaten more than half of it, and there was no way to retrieve it. We had to get some new ones
Isn't nature wonderful! I have seen trees eating old car parts that somebody dumped in what they thought would forever be a forgotten corner of the woods. This summer we went for a small bike trip and came upon an old camp site where it seemed the owner had just locked most of the doors and left everything as it was. Nature is busy reclaiming it now.
It seems he just gave up and locked up from what we could gather. He was getting on in years and had nobody to take over.
