I stumbled on this while downloading some photos off my camera, and thought I would share. This was during the forest fires in BC last year, and the sun peaking through some dark clouds. The sky was red much of the summer last year, and this was taken from my deck.
Wow Melody. I felt weird 'liking it' but wanted to acknowledge it. Tough. Our son was in Washington State at that time & they were getting smoke too
Thank you Cayuga. The smoke sure did travel. Athough the fires were very close and worrisome ( we were ordered to evacuate) the beauty it also created in the sky simply left me in awe. I'm happy that you liked it. There truly is beauty everywhere when we look for it.
Melody here is a fire tower in the Florida Everglades. They get wild fires too and do prescribed burns to control things. It's quite a problem down here.
I liked those fotos. Those towers are quite tall, aren’t they. What an office those look out folks have.
Thank you for the kind words everyone. I was worried because after I posted the photo, I saw on the news that there were fires in Texas already, and then my internet went out for a day. I hope the photo post wasn't seen as insensitive. My hearts with them. @Cayuga Morning ..that is incredible! And nope nope nope nope....I'd never go up there hahahaha. Beautiful view I bet, and legs o steel. Our "look outs" are on mountain peaks. There is one a couple hours drive away that I took my husband to last spring. Thirty years here and he'd never seen it. The same one was in the middle of one of the fire zones last summer, and the view now has changed consideraby.
Melody, your fire photo wasn't seen as insensitive at all. There is a large fire in West Texas, ironically called the Eastland fire, but firefighters from Central Texas are joining their fellow firefighters to combat and contain the wildfire. We don't need fire spotter towers here. If you stand on a rock, you can see for miles!
