I love seeing your quilts Daniel. :headbang:They look so expensive yet they have cost you very little.

Beautiful ten-shirt-quilt! I hope the recipient of that gift will value the work you put into it.

Next up I will quilt the batik top that I already made but not quilted. It should go somewhat faster. I think the ten-shirt quilt has at least twice as many quilting seams as I'm planning for the batik. Then I will start a star pattern from a magazine, again with shirt cotton but not sure about the colors yet.

There is also a messenger bag I want to make using upcycled kaki cloth. I need to change the pattern a bit first. I just finished a couple more cadet caps like the one in my avatar. Those are what I make when my brain is too tired to think but my hands want to do something.

Batik quilt is getting closer. This one has taken a long, long time. Today I completed the quilting. I opted for parallel lines, for a more modern appearance and so the batik and quilt pattern would stand out better.

Now it needs to have the excess batting and backing trimmed off, and a binding sewn on. Then a good washing an drying which I hope gives it an old fashioned sort of crinkly texture.

Righty ho Daniel - when will you open your online shop, and how much will they cost - can I afford one? How much will the postage be? Could you please design one for me for a 6ft dining table (rectangular) with pink and green patterned fabric just for starters - please

These are beautifully done. I'm fortuneate to have two quilters in the family as I am not one. I cannot sew a straight line to save my life.

I have great admiration for quilters, and the precission and patience that goes into each one. Well done Daniel.

Can I ask about the sewing machine maintenance? Mine is well overdue, and there no longer is a place to take it for servicing. Any advice or recommendations?

Today I trimmed the excess batting and backing, and sewed on the binding. Thanks for all of the nice comments! They were very nice to read. Very nice.

After a trip through the washer and dryer, here we are. Size is about 7 feet square, for a queen-size bed. I started this one in March, last year. So it took a while LOL.

@Tetters LOL! You don't want me to sell one. I'm very slow. If I charged by the hour, you could probably buy a car with that amount, I did make one as a gift for a friend, and planning another.

@Melody Mc. , I found manuals for my older sewing machines online, just a search with the model and make. There are several websites for those, even better if you have the original. I got the maintenance info from the manual. One thing I do that's not in the manual is use canned compressed air to blow out the fabric dust. There are only a handful of points to oil. I've used mostly sewing machine oil or, rarely, a tiny amount of WD40.

Love, love, love all your quilts Daniel!
I do not have the patience to sit long enough to do something like that, as much as I would love to!

Daniel, Welcome to the 'Stew.. I haven't been around much due to life being far too busy for me to be on the computer for anything. I am so impressed by your quilting talent. I just wanted to say how lovely they are. job well done. it's a lot of work piecing a quilt top together and assembling it. we do basic quilts for giving away in south texas during the Winter and they are very basic. yours would be hard to part with if we put that much effort into one.
