Beautiful smallish garden on the coast of New Hampshire. You could hear this "water device" at least 30 feet away....a big 'pong!!!' every so often. After the garden, we of course stopped at a fish shack for lobster rolls! Beautiful garden, beautiful weather, delicious outside dining, great company.
WOW those orange roses are gorgeous. I want some. Oops forgot to say what a lovely garden and thanks for sharing. Orange roses, orange roses must have some orange roses - NOW!!
Oh, I do lurve it when you go to a garden. Of course all the pics are beautiful, but the one that caught my eye was the one with white “stars” in the tree. The fifth pic from the top. That “pong” device was interesting. I have seen similar things in Indonesia, but they made a loud, almost gunshot-like crack. They were situated in their sawa’s. Great posting, meid.
This is simply wonderful. I also love the orange rose. I have also heard of the pong device....and very honestly have looked into it for capturing the dew off of the stable/shelter/now garden shed at the bottom of the property. Dew comes every night and is heavy - it drips but doesn't pour. I have a rain barrel there with a nozzle for the first time....but wouldn't it be cool to have a bamboo pong device to water the corn and keep some "big hairy" creatures away. You may be onto something there CM!
Lovely photos! If that noise device works, I would love to try one too. Do you think it could deter obnoxious bipedal critters that infest my neighborhood? The tall ones that look a bit like Sasquatch only not nearly so big nor as hairy, and around here generally speak English?
Hahahaha....well, what if it is an attractant?? Then you may have to devise a secondary deterant.... Pit or Moat perhaps? Or some fake bees nests with a speaker equipped with buzzing sounds?
Nice garden! Thanks for sharing. We have a shishi-odoshi in our garden, in one of my husband's ponds. It's connected to a circulation pump. I find the soft "thunk-splash-thunk" soothing when I work or sit outside. It does not ward off unwanted guests, though, and we've had it for nigh on 20 years.
