    So what's a mandi @Sjoerd?

At our camp in western NY state, we have an outdoor shower stall. It's great!

Well, basically there is a sort of stall with a drum of water standing in there. In this drum of water there is some sort of plastic or metal can with which one scoops up water.

So, first you scoop up enough water to make your entire body wet. You then soap up, then scoop the water again , pouring it over you until the soap is gone. That’s it then. Just dry off, whip the sarong back on and Bob’s yer uncle.

Well that would work. I presume there's a drain in the floor.

It could be a sort of wet room, where the drain is in the floor.

I have used mandi’s in all sorts of situations from a simple outside stall to hotel rooms.

I'm not into sunburn, so I wear a thin, long sleeve shirt made from some very light material and treated with UV blocker. And a floppy brim light weight hat with ventilation.

I feel bad for people in Europe who have not had to experience such weather before.

This reminded me of my old place but mine was much more spacious :)
    I missed it!

KK, I had no idea that you grew up in a kampung. Mate, you have come a long way.
That piccy of the child dumping water over his head is precisely how my Bride and I used these mandi’s when we travelled in Malaysia and Indonesia. Actually it was not a new experience for me because when I was sent to stay with my grandparent’s farm for three months during the summers. They had no running water in the house…so, I would go to the spring and haul milk pails full of water until I had enough to bathe outside. No prob with being naked outside because there were no neighbours for kilometres.
