Beautiful fall day here with +4 this morning. Crepes, bacon, sausage, raspberry and saskatoon berry sauces, with whipping cream for the adult kids last breakfast at home. Today is a final clean up on the trees, and hopefully an evening fishing trip with the kids. A pot of Tomatoes is reducing on the stove for canning later this afternoon.

Good Wednesday evening all. Currently 10°C and overcast. It was yet another wet day. It really feels like fall.
I finished off with one of my clients for the year today. Always sad when the garden season is over.
But October is a very busy month - skating picks back up and I'm at the rink 5 days a week and work is busy with fall cleanup. I am tired lol
Have a good night all :)

Lovely warm fall day meant time to stop avoiding cleaning out the storage room and back of the guest cabin. A big load of ladies professional work clothes, childrens boots and winter coats, mittens and gloves, scarves, ladies jackets, windbreakers and winter boots are ready to go to the share store. Some blankets, pillows, kitchen utensils and small appliances left over from the kids school "away from home"days are in the load. As well as some small TV's, DVDs for kids and some board games. The thrift store employs at risk youth, as well as allows them to take home their most favourtie two treasures of the day. They also support at risk families. I'm tired after a 10 hour sorting out day, but really happy about this. Next week the treasures go to town :)

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently just 5°C and sunny. It has been a cool week and I've been busy after the first couple of frosts. But today I have taken the day off work to can up all the garden produce that has been sitting on my harvest table! 2 kinds of peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, zucchini, onions, carrots, cabbage ... it all has to get off my table before this weekends Thanksgiving dinner! It should keep me busy all day and then off to the rink tonight.
Have a great day all :)

Good Thursday afternoon all. Currently 20°C and mostly cloudy.
Found my table top yesterday under all the produce. Sadly, a good few of the tomatoes were already mush. But I did get the potatoes and onions put away, the peppers and tomatoes sliced and frozen, zucchini shredded and frozen (and some muffins baked yum), and a great big batch of German red cabbage and onions made and pressure canned. I feel a little better now that all that food is 'put up'. Today at work I decorated for fall. It was a good day.
Have a great day all :)

Today is looking to be a beaut. -2 last night, but a high of 16 coming today. It's been unusually warm during the day and very dry. Yesterday was finishing all of the kindling, covering the burn pile so it is dry for a snowy day, and gathering some leaves from behind the wood shed ( that were filling the newly dug trench for snow melt direction). They will get mulched today.

They are forecasting 70 km winds tomorrow and a chance of snow tomorrow night. It won't last, but I'd rather have some baking lined up inside tomorrow.

Congratulations on getting your harvest in Netty. Sounds like a really satisfying day. :)

Good Saturday afternoon all. Currently just 9°C and windy with cloudy skies.
Another busy day ... we were at the rink until noon, then we had a quick stop at the dollar store for some last minute things. We came home and cleaned and did laundry, got the woodstove going and started the prep for tomorrows thanksgiving dinner. Also got the shade cloth taken off the greenhouse, the pool drained, and the comfrey harvested. Before I knew it the daylight was gone! Made DH a big pot of wieners and beans for dinner (which he LOVED) and I ate up the leftovers in the fridge. Tomorrow we have the family over for a good old fashioned Canadian Thanksgiving dinner! I cant wait!
Have a great night all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently just 9°C and overcast. It looks like the sun should peek out soon.
Already done our morning dog walk, and now a quick cup of coffee before I go and get organized in the kitchen.
It's going to be a great day :)

Happy fellow Canadian Thanksgiving Netty! Enjoy your family feast! :stew1:

A brisk -2 this morning with the sun beginning to shine on the last of the golden poplar leaves. Today is making our Thanksgiving dinner, although small and non traditional this year. We had a turkey dinner when my oldest daughter came home a couple of weeks ago. Today we will be dropping the last danger tree before winter - a poplar on the driveway that has an injury and rot in the middle. I was hoping the leaves would come off first but they are being a little reluctant.
Then having a lovely dinner and hopefully an early bed.

Good Tuesday afternoon all. Currently 16°C and overcast with scattered showers.
Mother Nature is bringing high winds tonight ... that should get rid of the rest of the leaves in the trees.
Had another busy day at work, and we are off to the rink shortly. I'm going to sleep good tonight!
Have a good night all :)

We’ve had months of unseasonably warm, dry weather with clear blue skies. Another 80 F/27 C day. My heart aches for misty rain and cool temperatures. Everything is dry, but my transplanted perennials are getting a good start as I move and water them them (from one home to another). Busy day today with Taichi Quan and mask making/storytelling. Looking forward to seeing all the bulbs I planted flowering in the spring. Will see if I can pick up a few more as I am out and about today.

Good Saturday afternoon all. Currently 10°C and overcast with passing showers. Every once in a while it starts to rain.
Just spent 4 hours at the rink, now home to have lunch and do some cleaning. I need to sort out all the veggies on my table and get to preserving!
Lots of laundry and dusting too.
Have a great day all :)
