Beautiful mushroom surrounded by lovely green grass. Perfect pic. Lots of mushrooms growing around the garden .. especially in the horse waste. Here’s a fairy ring I found growing in the pasture. Perfectly round.. now where are all the fairies?
Oh my— I haven’t seen one of those in a long time. We call them, “witches circle”. Chuckle. Maybe that’s why you didn’t see any fairies. Haha. They are amazing to see.
This smells lovely at the moment but it had a bit of dieback because of the drought this summer. Can never remember the name of it.
Beautiful shrub.. looks so familiar… Abelia ? Pittosporum? Wiegelia? Deutzia? all the above maybe a match…fragrant flowers.
I remember now it's a variety of Sarcococca and thanks Pacnorwest Next door has Christmas box under the window. Thanks.
Logan I have never come across a Sarcococca like that. This shrub is usually much smaller and has narrow leaves, and I have yet to find one with the variegation. This has puzzled me and I would love to know just which shrub it is. as well as the named variety ? It is definitely not any of the suggestions above either. I know all of these very well and have propagated thousands of them when I was still at work. I did consider maybe a new variety of either Osmanthus or Elaeagnus, but cannot find a like variegation in any text. Yours is a lovely shrub that's for sure, and I would love to grow some here.....if anyone has more suggestions about the ID
This one is christmas box (S. confusa) @Logan This smaller finer leaf shrub at the front looks like Sarcococca to me. Does the bigger shrub behind it come from the same rootstock? @Logan - as an afterthought, if this IS sport of the smaller shrub, you could make a fortune out of it
Tetters, thank you I just thought that it was a Sarcococca shrub, it's got tiny flowers and the scent is amazing. Lost the label a very long time ago.
Tetters thank you,I've taken another 2 pics but not the stem because i did it before i saw your post and now it's dark and raining. I think hubby found the name by googling it. I think that it's Osmanthus Heterophyllus 'Veriegatus' or Holly Osmanthus, but the leaves doesn't look like Holly, but it rings a bell. See the dieback, hubby hasn't got around to cutting that out. A close up of the leaves
