Belated, thank you for your words. (US Army medic 1975-1978). I was never in combat, thankful for that). Military life was good for me, not without it's risks and other downsides, but my life is better for having done it.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -1°C and overcast. I was up bright and early this morning, I've had my dog walk and now I'm enjoying a cup of coffee. I have some chick peas on the stove cooking and a few slabs of pork ready for turning into pulled pork and pork stew for canning up. I can't pass up a good deal on meat, and I do like to have some ready for quick meals in my pantry for skating nights. Its going to be colder now as our unseasonably warm weather is gone, so its time to focus on inside jobs now (fall cleanout)
Have a great day all :)

Contemplating all the bulbs I’ve planted this fall. The last bunch were really big lily bulbs I ordered online. Need to get a couple more bags of bark to cover the soil and haul some leaves up from the lower part of the lot. Life is good with such an abundance of opportunities.
Got my little Kamado and stand put together and the barbecue has had its first fire, seasoning it. Tomorrow is roasted veggies and beef as it’s maiden cook off.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -4°C and snowing. Woke up to about 2-3 inches of the white fluffy stuff this morning. Sargent thought it was great and he was absolutely WILD on our walk this morning! Home now, heading into the shower and I have an 11:20 appointment with my chiropractor this morning. I should have re-scheduled until later or next week as I just had a giant pile of firewood delivered yesterday and its not going to put itself away. I'll do a little shopping and then come home and do some work before we have skating tonight.
Have a great day all :)

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -5°C and snowing. I really shouldn't complain about all this snow as we had a wonderful warm fall before this week. But I'm just not ready for this winter weather yet! My firewood pile is still only half put away and now its covered in snow. DD want to go to the mall, but I really would like to stay home today! Hoping the snow makes her want to stay home.
Have a great day all :)

Good Sunday morning all. Currently -7°C with snow squalls making it feel more like -14°C. I just got the message that DD's skates are ready for pick up from the sharpener, but I'm going to have to wait for the squalls to pass. It sure feels like winter now!! Looked out my window and couldn't even see the woodshed due to the squalls, I had to bundle up tight to go for my dogwalk and the driveway is icy and I almost fell several times. Wake me up when spring gets here haha
Have a great day all :)

Good Monday morning all. Currently -7°C and sunny. It snowed all day yesterday, and we ended up with about 50cm of snow dumped on us. This week is mild so most of it should
    melt :fingerscrossed:
I've got some indoor projects to do this morning, and then an oil change this afternoon, and skating this evening. Another busy day!
Have a great day all :)

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -8°C and sunny.
We are getting ready to head to a funeral this morning. My MIL passed last week at the age of 96. It will be a gathering of mostly family ... her 2 children and their families, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. We are going to celebrate my daughters birthday tomorrow instead of today. Bad timing.
And of course, this evening at the rink.
Have a great day all :)

@Netty - I'm very sorry for your family's loss. That is a large number of grandchildren. The legacy of such a large beautiful family will hopefully bring all comfort when they come together.

@Netty, I'm sorry for your loss.

I also learned of the death of my best friend. He was not responding to texts or emails, so I had adult protective services check on him. He died several days prior. He had suffered terribly for many years, pain and disability, so at least that is not happening now .

I will be delivering tomorrow for Meals on Wheels. I feel like that is a mini-welfare check, and a mini-visit, someone to say "Hi, how are you today?", as well as the meals.

@Daniel W - what DM said could not be said any better. And I'm so sorry for the loss of your best friend. That's a tough one.
