One of my heat lamps died this winter right before that below zero cold snap here at Christmas, and I had to replace it. I got rid of the electrical parts because I do not like to ever use bad electrical parts. But I saved the aluminum cover and want to make something with it. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do with it? It is a nice piece of aluminum, so I do not care to toss it. It looks a lot like this one. I guess they are the kind sometimes used in brooders, and I use a few to keep pipes from freezing in the winter.
The silver lamp cover would make a great thinkin hat. Paint over the silver area any design to give it a bit of flare. Add a light bulb painted Gold glued on the tip of old opening…then add the words “I’m Thinkin “….Who knows you may have a new fad on your hands… Also to keep pipes from freezing.. Oh Yeah..I always forget about our pipe warmers… thanks for reminding me to unplug the pipe warming wire around our pipes to keep them from freezing.
I do have some burned out bug light bulbs that are already yellow. I keep forgetting to put them in the chicken coop to get my hens laying again, I HOPE.
great idea.considering the cost of eggs at grocery’s. I read an article that more and more people are raising chickens and a study about the lead content. I had a hard time believing it. However the soil content in my area has developed a higher grass hay content for sugar than in other areas. Who wudda thought. The only thing restricting my horse on eating grass in her pasture is how much really grows out there. She gets hay daily, and other things for treats.
Good funnel for decanting fertilizer or feed I bet. I am always saving smaller containers to spread or store this and that, but shuffling stuff about can make a mess.
of course they also have grass hay and beet cubes …other feed for older horses. Both Tenn Walker and arabian are in their 20’s and to much sugar from fresh grass has made them insulin resistant. So they need less sugars in their feed.
My palomino quarter horse is in her 20s also. I like to give mine rabbit pellets (alfalfa), and fruit like apples or carrots for treats. I use a sweet 12 feed for her. She loves those alfalfa pellets, but I only give them a few times per week. Sometimes I have trouble getting her sweet 12 feed the last 2 or 3 years, and have to substitute a livestock feed, which she hates. She will hide down in the back of her pasture crying if that is all I can get for her. She is very sensitive.
An idea came to me this afternoon. I think maybe a windchime? I have something good for the clapper, as soon as I find it. Maybe I have a few other things for the chimes? I will take a picture when it is done. I am glad y'all helped me think about ideas.
