The singer was Tod Rundgren. He wrote the song. It's from the double album "Something/Anything."
On the track, he played all the instruments. He is also a producer and worked on Meatloaf's "Bat Out of Hell." album.
Meatloaf told the story in a TV interview that he wanted the sound of a motorcycle on a track. So with some reluctance, he said, Tom added it. He made the sound on his guitar!

He has a long association with Daryl Hall. Though here from 11 years ago, it's a shame his voice hasn't worn as well as Daryl's

Morse was a long-running detective series from the eighties, Morse is an Oxford educated chief inspector, played by the late John Thaw. All episodes are set in Oxford.
    Full episodes on YouTube.
His wife Sheila Hancock had a part in one episode.

More recently, another series, called "Endeavour," is about Morse's career, set twenty years before the original. It starts with Endeavour joining the police force.

This will be the ninth and final series. It will be screened early this year.

This stars Shaun Evans, as Morse.
John Thaw's daughter has a regular part as a newspaper reporter.

Both series are very popular. So much so, that Morse's assistant, Sergeant Lewis, played by Kevin Whatley, got his own series, "Lewis" four years after the death of John Thaw in 2002. That ran for nine series.

Riley Thank you :smt039.. enjoyed watching Morse. And appreciate the show , has good values and one of the actress was in a series I watched on CD a few years ago call…’Rosemary and Thyme’. Another British detective series. Two gardeners who end up as detectives while on the job as garden designers.

Oats and Hall were huge in the US. I thought this song would be appropriate..

In the late 60s i used to go with friends to the Saturday cinema for kids, they used to show all the cartoons and adventure films. They used to play that song while we were waiting for it to start. I was given 2 x sixpences to get in, that's in old money.
It was called the Gaurmont cinema and
very big, but sadly in the late 70s it had closed and turned into a Bingo club. There's a smaller one called the Odeon across the road that was turned into a multi screen cinema.

I've always liked this but hubby doesn't, because of her whistling ability, that's the high notes that she could sing.

Ok it’s Donna Summers singing “On the Radio. She was a super singer in the 80’s …I saw her in Las Vegas. I’ll try to fix it from here too. Hope this one works.
