Organizing for a little escape with other RVing females. It’s been awhile since the caravan has been on the hiway. Had new tires put on her (hard to believe I got her 6 years ago). Now I am trying to decide what to take and what supplies are already in the caravan. Looks like it will be a rainy time according to future weather forecasts so need to plan for such.

Jewell, have a great time RVing! For supplies, may I suggest a couple of bottles of a good hearty red wine, and some chocolates. Who cares if it rains!

Marlin… Glad to hear ur powers is back on. High voltage can cause serious problems. We had the power issues where all of a sudden the lights were dimming off and on. So I immediately went to the power box and flicked off all the power in every room. Then called the power company . It actually cause the elec stove to short out and a few other electrial do dads. It was the strangest occurrence. we constantly have issues with power outages in winter. So far we have had so many I have lost count. It’s always fun having to run around and setting up all the electrical deally-bobs in the house back up. When powers out all the back up batteries has everything beeping at the same time. Like listening to an ambulance in your livrm. I finally went thru and muted all the warning battery beepers…

Jewell, it’s fun to travel and camp. We brought the horse trailer in tow camped at various horse camps. Where they at small fenced in areas for the horses to rest at night. Did that a lot when the kids were small. Every summer we would travel to the nat’l parks in the US. Pack a few things and pick up more stuff food as we went along.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 6°C and raining. I've been for my dog walk and now its coffee and Gardenstew time.
Such a busy week, and I've got to admit I'm a little sore. But no pain, no gain and so I'm going to suck it up and keep moving ... there is lots to do at home this weekend. But since its raining, I'm starting with my tax return, then moving on to cleaning house. Tomorrow will be gardening day!
Have a great day all :)

Good morning to everyone! We have sunshine, and although it is chilly, we are enjoying the brightness! I made a quart of hummingbird syrup this morning. We have two feeders out and the hummingbirds are starting to arrive.
Husband was out in the workshop, putting the final coat of paint on the bathroom trim. Bless him, he keeps mentioning how grateful he is to have such a fine workshop, and that I didn't object to the cost of it being built. I just smile and think to myself "how much that workshop has saved us, and all the work he does is done very well". My mama didn't raise a dummy! But I'll let him continue with the gratitude . . . .

Good Sunday morning all. Currently just 4°C and cloudy. I do hope Mother Nature got all the rain out yesterday!
I'm hoping to get out to the gardens today. There are lots of small weeds trying to take over, so I've got to get that under control. Lots of perennials that will need dividing too, and they may end up in my daughters gardens at the new house. So much to do! And thanks @Melody Mc. for the reminder to get my hummingbird feeders cleaned and hung!
Have a great day all :)

Netty, I sympathize! We have rain and overcast, and chill. Our outdoor plans in the garden have been cancelled, so it looks like we'll be doing a lot of nothing today.
Hope the rest of you get to do what you want to do today, and those of us who don't, at least get to enjoy our indoor time!

Yesterday was "the day" of moving all perenials, flowers, brassica and herbs to the greenhouse to live until the world warms up. This way I can move them in and out without managing stairs ( missed the bottom step twice and had a biff out, BUT saved the plants!) , they can harden off and they will get all natural light. The heat lamps and remay fabric should keep them safe at night.

It was a low of plus 2 C so that was exciting. While Hubby slept yesterday Angus and I tip toed out and dropped some small dry standing trees for the woodstove. That way we won't use our much needed winter wood supply for the odd fire to keep the chill out of the house. The smallest chainsaw is nice for this (only a 14 inch bar) and quite quiet as far as chainsaws go. He also bought me a little hand held mini chainsaw ( 6 inch bar bwahahaha) which is super quiet and okay for delimbing. ( Texas mini chainsaw not quite a masacre?? ) :)

Then inside to make mozzerella and bake some bread. Chicken was roasted for an early dinner.

Today is a much needed rainy day to melt some snow and green some grass for the deer and bears ( keeps them away from my strawberries). It will be a day to send some very over due email replies to family and drink a lot of tea. :)

Mel my fav garden tool is a battery op chain saw. It’s amazing and takes the work outta the trimming to easy peasy.

I have hinted to my adult children that if they wanted to go together for a mom gift for Christmas, that I am slowly getting to the point of being tired of pull starting the gas chainsaws ( especially when they are stubborn aka I flood it. ). And I could use the quiet sneaky factor of a battery one. With the amount of wood I cut I would need at least three batteries I think hahahaha And a 16 to 18 inch bar.

We shall see. Hard to justify for myself to purchase when I have four gas saws with four different sized bars in the barn. But ....it definitely is something I've been pondering in the flyers and ads. :) It is on the "make a wish list". I tore my bicep and had a partial rotator cuff tear, and inflamed bursa three years ago doing saw work while Hubby was laid up. I still feel the bicep sometimes when I start the gas saws. There is appeal in the idea of a button instead of a pull . One day Pac :)

It rained glorious rain last night and did not freeze. Green is happening and snow melting before my eyes. It was a bit late taking Angus for his night time business trip. We were halfway across the field when what to my wondering eyes did appear....but a field of Dew Worms! ( night crawlers for some). I had mittens on, so with some speed and zero accuracy I managed to scoop twenty or so before they retracted into the ground. Angus came to see what was up, and had fun snurffling them and making them retreat. There were hundreds and hundreds of them.

I didn't have a container, so I took of my toque and used that (gross). ( it and the mittens are in the wash). Once the rain eases today we are driving to the lake with a couple of rods and casting from shore. Fun fun fun!

This sounds like a lot of fun Jewell. I love our little trailer, but I absolutely cannot back it up. :-( You have my respect pulling a trailer confidently. It is my kryptonite. Have fun with the ladies!

Mel—good luck with your wish. Those worms! You could throw some in your compost pile as well. Good luck at the fishing hole. Waiting for pics…please.
