Oh, those apple flaps were crispy and delicious. It is a great time of year.

 

I like that they are square hahaha. That is brilliant and makes so much sense.

 

Well, they are square because we felt greedy. Normally we just use one dough square and fold it into a triangle. This square one required two dough pieces—perhaps wasteful, but hard graft needs to be rewarded, right?

 

Wow, those look so good, Sjoerd! I won't be doing any baking or gardening for the next few days. Oh! I forgot we make s'mores one of the nights!

What are s’mores?

 

S'mores (or Smores they've taken out the apostrophe at some point) are campfire things. You roast a marshmallow, then put it and chocolate between two graham crackers. It kind of melts the chocolate. I personally just think they're okay. My way of thinking is why ruin a perfectly good Hershey bar with graham crackers and marshmallow. I like all three of them, separately. But the kids love them.

I do like chocolate (dark) very much, so I can see why a child would like it.
