Yes I've tried them and every other probiotic 'food'. Never noticed any difference, I wondered if in the end it was just a marketing ploy.

For the last few years I've been taking a daily Acidophilus tablet...I don't take a high CFU one though ,mine are just 5 Billion per serving. These were recommended to me by a Dr.

Thanks Oreti, i just wandered if it would help my indigestion and wind that i have in my stomach. Always suffered from it since i was in my late teens. A few times went to see a Dr but only gave me a suspension liquid for indigestion, another told me to eat smaller meals and nothing spicy. I get uptight about things or it's just me. My mother used to get it and her sister had stomach ulcers, but don't know what type. 7 years ago when Bracken passed away, i had pain just under my ribcage in my stomach, seen a Dr she put it down to me being upset about him going and for me to stop drinking so much tea, but i still do but it's decaf tea.

I have IBS and stress is most definitely a trigger point for that too. Acidophilus was also recommended by the Surgeon who did my bladder op a few years ago as well as D Mannose...so I take both....so much better now.:like:.

Probiotics can only help up to a point. But if you have leaky gut syndrome, which can sometimes mimick symptoms of irritable bowl syndrome, (and so can sometimes lead to misdiagnosis) - Then probiotics won't do anything...

The simplest thing to watch out for, is if the urine starts to smell of what you just eat a while ago. Than we have a serious problem on our hands. As that's leaky gut - Which often is a result of overdosing with antibiotics.

The only cure for it, is fecal transplant from a healthy person, (you can Google up what it is and how doctors do it)... Usually people in advanced age, like in their late 80s or 90s often suffer from leaky gut syndrome. As their digestive system is too fragile now. So fecal transplant is beneficial for them. Donation is usually from their own grandchildren, (preferably under the age of 10). This basically resets their entire digestive system, and some claim that they have become youthful again. Even though the process is pretty disgusting...

However now I have heard that they have capsules, in which the proper gut bacteria is added, (according to what suits their exact type of lifestyle and genetics).

There is by the way a relationship between gut bacteria and our brains too, (believe it or not). However, since I'm not a doctor, (and am only going by whatever my scientific feeds yell me) - Whatever I say here shouldn't be considered as a diagnosis. Instead, one has to do their own research, then consult a qualified specialist.

Oreti, pleased that you have your IBS in control.
Thanks S-H for that information, I've heard of fecal transplant, i haven't got any grandchildren, but i don't think that I'll do that anyway.
My mother in law had a very bad leaky gut and everything she ate went straight through.she smoked a lot.

Just be well informed about everything. So never jump into anything blindly. Always get a second or even a third and fourth opinion if need be.

Also take with a pinch of salt, whatever tall claims some people make online about "new and miraculous cures", (as there are too many evil people roaming about nowadays, who just want to empty your wallets)...

Instead I'd suggest you all set a feed on your social media accounts, which brings you the latest news about what type of progress is taking place, (by following reputable sources of scientific news). That's the best way of staying informed, as social media today have very effective filters regarding fake claims and news.

Also try to regularly observe any Transhumanism [h+] groups and communities you might find online. As that's where you'll find examples of out of the box thinking.

Same tummy problems for years. TWO things I changed after trying many other treatments that did not work.
    1. I stopped eating out. No prepared foods and sodas.
    2. Eat yogurt daily.
That is what stopped the issue in its track for me .

We have had those Actimel "immune support" Yoghurts, daily for years. I've no idea if they do any good or not. I just buy them as "they're on the list."

We never eat out and don't drink soda. I'll try the yoghurt way, won't try the activia paying for the name, that's if i can get anything else.
    Thanks Pacnorwest and Doghouse Riley.

I think adding crushed nuts, (of all type) into yogurt will be very beneficial. Avoiding carbonated beverages is also a plus. But also consume pickled cucumbers, carrots, onions, and garlic, alongside pickled chilies, (mild ones).

I myself can't stand yogurt at all, as it very quickly induces ballistic vomit in me...

So I make something similar to a thousand Island dressing. It's basically mayonnaise, with a little English mustered, some tomato ketchup, with maybe Tabasco sauce also. And sun dried tomatoes, chilies, onions, green onions too, and curry leaves as well, (all sun dried and very finally chopped up). With lots of black cumin and basil seeds.

Just spread this on toast, or use as a dressing for just about anything.

Little better the COVID-19 pandemic, I almost died from swine flu. I was miserable for 20 days, and recovery took over 3 months.

I am now completely fine, and fully recovered. But that ailment caused a lot of gut damage. Which took a lot longer to recover from. Only lasting problem I have from it now, is that I today require reading glasses. Otherwise everything else is back to normal.

So anyhow, whatever I've mentioned above, is how I fixed myself... Yes, also eat fish meat - Saltwater fish caught from the ocean, not freshwater fish from rivers and lakes.

I was later told my a medical expert, that the only reason I recovered from it and didn't die. Is because I never smoked anything, nor drank any type of alcoholic beverages in my entire life.

Didn't bother to go to any hospital, as I already knew that they had nothing for someone in my condition... Only afterwards, when the worst was over for me - Did the medicine tamiflu arrived in quantity. However I didn't need it by that time.

Thanks S-H, i can't eat too much pickled foods because they irritate my stomach.
That's good news that you recovered from the covid and swine flu, but have to wear glasses, that's a bummer.

Smoothies homemade fruits, plain yogurt no sugar and protein powder. Does not need to be the special pricy yogurt.

The biggest offender for me was eating out at restaurants, take home prepared foods , boxed foods at grocery stores and junk foods especially fried foods. The *Preservatives and Chemicals* in prepared foods really created tummy havoc. I avoid those like the plague.

When grocery shopping I only buy food from around the perimeter of the building. Except dried foods. Fresh veggies, fresh fruits, nuts, some chicken.

In my area where I live during summers we have a lot of different fruit/veggie farms that has U-Pick your own , free of chemicals . Cherry’s, strawberries, peaches, plums, different berries even farms that take orders and will prepare your order picking fresh from their gardens lots of fresh picked veggies. I may be spoiled with all the access to fresh grown foods. I started growing my own veggies in the 70’s because my kids were having serious issues back then. Even meats were filled with preservatives, dyes and antibiotics. I bought a quarter cow from a farm and avoided the grocery store meat department. I learned a lot about food additives that were extremely toxic including all the different types of sugars added to our foods. It’s really tough when our small children suffer from these issues so young and vulnerable to the toxins in foods that rob them of a healthy happy experience with food.,
