Daniel the in-law cherry tree still looks good. That is a huge job to do in one day. The girth on that tree is huge. It still has life. It is hard to cut down old trees they become such a part of the landscape for so long.

Roofers tomorrow ? Maybe start on the new roof? The disruption is a bit unnerving. It’s so worth it. Sitting on pins and needles to see the results.

Good morning everyone, lovely to read up on all your posts.....busy times for sure but we'll all have a beautiful gardens to sit and relax in this summer.
It's the best hobby and keep fit workout possible which also happens to be extremely enjoyable.

Rain is making a comeback here ,should arrive around mid afternoon. I hope the ground will be easier to work by tomorrow as it's so rock hard.

    Have a fun day.:D

Good Monday afternoon all. Currently 17°C and overcast. We have been getting passing showers as well, and at one point I heard thunder but nothing came of it.
Another busy day at work, and I was hoping for rain all day so I could go home. Was not feeling energetic at all, but I made it through the day and now I'm home.
Dinner and lunches to make and then off to the rink!
Have a good evening all :)

Good morning everyone, I hope you're all keeping well and that all joints are behaving well and not grumbling too much with all this Springtime gardening !!

We have an out and about day today with appointments and other must do visits to makes so I very much doubt that any gardening will be done today.....which is a shame as it's beautifully sunny.

    Have a good day.:)

    Good morning everyone.

    That's a fine looking dibber @Clay_22 . Should make planting out easier.:):like:

Although our day has started off nice and sunny it's apparently not going to stay that way. Just how much time I get out in the garden will depend on how much thunder we actually get....I can cope with the rain though.:like:

Hope your forecast is a better one.:)

Hummer in the tree feeder and chipmunk ‘Allen’ …at the hummer cam drinking the sugar water.

A few birds did make it to the feeders. The jays are the Bad Boys. The Bully’s ..chasing all the birds off.

Thank you Oreti… the feeders will have to go very soon . The garden will have enough offerings for the birds. Plus water features.
I don’t feed in summer get way to many unwanted critters that take over. The blue jays especially eat the smaller birds eggs and hog everything in sight.

The hawks scare many away screaching while doin a fly over several times a day. I should set up the trail cams to spy on the coons at night… I’m sure you have a lot of birds and critters as well. It’s a circus out there.

We don't feed in the Summer either @Pacnorwest , we feel the surrounding countryside/ woods + what our own garden offers up is by far enough. I also think it's good for the wild life to forage as nature intended and not become completely dependent on garden feeders.

We have frequent fly passes by birds of prey......when we had our own birds they would go into panic mode even when they were indoors....amazing how their presence is detected by other animals. All the wild birds go undercover and rabbits scurry at top speed to the safety of their burrows.

Lazy day alternating puppy and old dogs out to explore the yard as I do chores. Weather is pleasant but windy. Watched the pollen be lifted from the pine in a few different gusts. The heaviest pollen year in memory. Car sitting outside take on a golden, dusty shimmer. Continue to extend beds a foot at a time with a bag of cedar mulch or two. Today I discovered a twilight hosta among a smaller variety. It’s the one with the shiny leaves. IMG_8745.jpeg
It will need a new spot since it is a nice midsized type.

Same here Jewell, but its the spruce trees! I don't remember them ever having so much pollen!
Good Thursday afternoon all. Currently 20°C and sunny. It is the perfect weather today! I had a great day ... got SO much done, got a raise and lost one pound! I'm so happy that my hard work is being noticed :)
Made my boys a big pot of mac and cheese for dinner and us girls had a salad. Off to the rink shortly.
Have a great evening all :stew1:

Netty here we have pollen tornados. no Joke. Everything is covered in yellow. Thank goodness this year we had a lot of rain to detour the pollen drift.

Jewell. Absolutely can not have a garden without hostas. Those are a delight. The deer have taken a toll on mine. But this year I think even the deer have split . So I may have som pop up soon.
