Many flocks of birds around this time of year. Lots of them fun to watch. They are so sneaky and tease the dogs. Most birds come by in flocks at certain times every day , especially during the hot temps of summer. I have seen the humming birds cooling off in the waterfall pond too . There are three separate water features around the garden area for the birds. The quail come in huge families. They come early afternoon to cool off in the water lily pond . 20 or more with babies . Then they hunker down in he cool grass and nap while the big daddy quails sit high on the rocks to keeps watch for predators.
Hostas are bloomin. I try to pick the thick corrugated leaves and if you look closely at the leaves you’ll see tiny spiky hairs which works well at keeping the slugs and snails away. Geranium blooms.
The pink flower is the …Hooded-leaf Pelargonium cucullatum. This is my Scented Geranium Pelargonium graveolens.
@Jewell very nice variety of blooms and colors, nice selection from phlox, daylilies, hydrangeas Veronica and everything in between, beautiful photos. You have accomplished a lot in your garden this season. It’s interesting to see what’s next. There is a lot of challenges with rocky areas on a slanted hillside.
Jewell— Nice smattering ! I especially like your phlox. Your Silene, all scattered-about are such lovely accents. Mine are all finished, so I am really enjoying yours. That Lupine, while garish, is still an eyecatcher, isn’t it. Pac—No surprise that I like you plants this time. The hosta collection is a joy to see. Such nice ones. The Geraniums are ones that I like as well, especially the the area with that Heuchera really picks up the red of the surrounding blooms. What a nice little spot that is.
@Sjoerd thank you.. you always have such kind and nice compliments well thought out from your years of experience. Glad you liked the geraniums and picked up on the Heuchera. They are in a planter in front of a window between two huge rhody’s. Full Pic of planter .
Wow…seeing it all from a distance is such a good perspective, Pac. The choices and overall effect really is remarkable. I enjoy seeing your planting results so much.
Enjoying so much see all your blooms @Pacnorwest . Thanks to you and @Sjoerd for the kind words. I am usually to tired to much of a post.
