Oh @Pacnorwest what absolutely gorgeous Hydrangeas you have......so very envious. I fell in love with your Bodensee....such delicate shading ...then I saw your ' can't make up it's mind Rainbow one'.... such a fun one !!!
Cloud watchng is a favourite pass time of mind when sitting out in our garden @Sjoerd . I find it so fascinating. A few years ago the clouds began to stack up on the west side of our property and they looked exactly like a mountain range..I still say to this day if we had visitors that day who were visiting for the very first time and didn't know our area they would've be tricked into thinking it was a real mountain range.!!
@Oreti I thought you would like the rainbow idea… I’m with you …I think hydrangeas are fabulous too !
Yes the bright side with mimosa plumes are the many humming birds who to tend to be possessive guarding their food sources. They wage huge wars flying up and around branches , flipping and flopping , squeaking at each other amazing aerial acrobats. 5-6 or more at a time. Then there is the flip side dealing with mimosa plumes …when they fall off the tree every slug in the county pops up. Who knew it’s the best way to gather up those sneaky slugs and pop ‘em in a bucket of soapy water.
wow I second that… I can smell them from here. Really just the mention of lilies sends my brain searching and in a nano second the fragrance is remembered.
Thank you Pacnorwest. Here's the front border along the path. Bit of a close up. Can't see the weeds from there.
Wow! Your garden must be the focal point of your entire street. They probably refer to you as “the Redditch Wonder”, wot.
Thank you Sjoerd, yes people say how lovely it is and they say that there's not any other garden like it. One man walks past it just to look at it.
Loggie, that does not surprise me one bit, for it is lovely. You deserve every single word of praise that you get. Do you get to talk to the folks that come by and admire your border? That is usually quite a pleasure. Borders are something that I can never have, so I appreciate the borders that others have. Borders are so lovely to se when they are developing and at their top…but for me, planning a border would be fun as well. Chapeau to you and your impressive result.
