Clay Thanks for the video . The wars are still on around here. They have given up in the back area digging along the foundation, plants and trees. The water bucket traps were a flop. But the caster oil , peppermint oil along with Plantskyyd seems to work. Now movement in a week. :fingerscrossed:
But the other areas not so much. But I still have more tricks up my sleeve.

@Pacnorwest funny story many years ago my mom put out a bird feeder. Of course the squirrels were hitting it and my step dad tried many tricks to stop them. One day he said to me , " Clay I put on a high branch towards the end and put it on a long rope and said I got them. The next day I saw them and one stayed on the ground while the other leapt from the tree hitting the feeder knocking seed down the other for a few times. Then other one did the same for the first squirrel." He chuckled and said I told them "you guys win - you've outsmarted a man with college degree. Enjoy the bird seed."

@Daniel W Very Clever. :snicker: I need a squirrel launcher. I don’t believe it hurts them they spread out their whole body like a kite for landings.

I need about 5 or 6 of those but a lot stronger launch pad. I want to launch them to the moon.
    No kidding for REAL.
This is when I wish I had a backyard pool to collect all the thursty squirrels that fall in…Wicked I know .:smt043

The beetroot has been boiled, cooled-off and then skinned , chopped, bagged and chucked into the coolerator before finally being placed in the freezer, in their own bag for organisations’ sake.

The hot work completed, it was time for tea ‘n bikkies. Today it was jaffa cakes and Mozartkugeln. You guys know what Jaffa Cakes are, right?
    IMG_4525.jpeg

The Mozartkugeln are a sort of chocolate and marzipan bon-bon.

For supper, we had a tomato pie, made without crust. And a soft tofu dish that had a roasted tomato sauce that we usually put on pasta. I thought both were good.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 15°C and sunny. Its going to be a beautiful day!
We've been for our dog walk, and thankfully Thunder is starting to enjoy walking more.
Lots to do today! Theres grass to cut, trimming to do, gardens to water, crops to harvest, laundry to wash, house to clean and now throw in the launch of skating season registrations and that should keep me out of trouble all day!
Have a great day all :)

It’s time for the annual huge flocks of Vaux swift birds to head south and stop at a chimney over night for a rest at the Chapman school in Portland.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 18°C and sunny. Another beautiful day ahead!
I didn't get too much done yesterday. I spent the afternoon with the neighbours on a doggie play date! Thunder and their labradoodle played until they were worn out, and then I came home and worked on a seed order. It was nice to have a little 'down time'.
Today is food prep and also preservation day for tomatoes, peppers, and beans. The garden is winding down now so this may be the last time for those. I'm finding weekends are just too short these days, and I look forward to being done work for the season. (7ish weeks to go!) haha
Have a great day all :)

Good Thursday afternoon all. currently 24° and sunny.
It was another beautiful day, and still no rain in sight. My facebook memories tell me that on this day in years past we had a killing frost 4 times since 2004.I'm glad today wasn't one of those days!
Lots of watering this week, and more tomorrow. There will be 3 weddings this weekend at work so it needs to look good!
I'll just be glad when the weekend starts haha
Have a great day all :)

@Netty I known that you will have everything looking perfect for the weddings scheduled. Your mentioning your work place from time to time, I find myself picturing wedding gardens but not sure if the traditional wedding arches adorned with flowers is part of what you’re commenting about. Any pictures ? I’m very curious .
