Moose roast— that takes me back. When living in AK we would trade salmon for moose mea. Up there you could get it in hamburger form.

Good Friday morning all. Currently -4°C and overcast.
Our family dinner was a great success! We had some great food, lots of laughs, and everyone was spoiled with gifts. SIL plowed the driveway for me as I don't know how to drive a stick yet - thats on my list to learn.
A day late, but today is errand and shopping day. Just a few things to pick up and then home where I am meeting some of DH's friends who are coming over to help me with a few things this afternoon. It's going to be another busy day!
Have a great day all :)

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 1°C and overcast. There is rain in the forecast today, and for the next few days. That should help knock down some of this snow.
My BIL came over to help fix my snowblower yesterday, and today he will be back to put on the new parts, if he was able to get them yesterday. No snow expected for a week, so it isn't a rush. All these things hubby used to fix, and so I am thankful that my nephew and brother in law are also mechanics and are happy to help me.
This morning I am going to the town dump, to unload the stuff from the basement that I'm throwing out. There will be another load of electronic waste on another day, but that is free to dispose of, and a large pile of donations for the second hand store. Well on our way with basement cleanout and project 'home gym'.
Chances are very good Sjoerd, but now that its all gone I'll be back on my regular diet! I won't be stepping on the scale for a few days to find out haha
Have a great day all :)

Netty— impressive work agenda there. It sounds like the basement/gym is visible on the horizon. Is the gym for you or the kids? Never mind. Just don’t loose too much weight, it is not bad to have some roundness in yer life. I had to chuckle when you said that you were going to give the scales a miss for a few days. :)

So, you have some snow, eh? This one’s for you:

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 5°C and overcast. I just checked the weather channel and it says I'm going to be getting some "unusually heavy rain" in the next 2 days. Hoping we fare out ok.
I made 2 trips to the local dump yesterday. One with old furniture and carpet etc, and one with electronic waste. Now I have space to sort things down there, and then there will be another load for the second hand store. Crazy how much stuff collects in 21 years!
I went to price out a new yard buggy as well. My current one isn't big enough to attach a snow plow to, but a bigger one with a plow is above my budget. I'll keep looking for other options.
I haven't decided what todays plan is yet. I'll ponder over my cup of coffee.
Have a great day all :)

Netty— isn’t it nice to take it easy once and a while. Chapeau to you and all the work you have done. You are so amazing. Is the gym slowly beginning to take shape down there now? What a great project.

It truly is amazing how much stuff one can have, and how it subtilely builds up over time. We found that out when we bought this place. I can tell you that we pared deeply into the stuff. There is still a couple of boxes of stuff down in the storage room under the building. The secret here is that there are some empty shelves in a couple of closets…..SHHhhhhhhhhh. Don’t talk about that ! :smt018 We just ignore that and do not talk about the extra room. What a luxury.

Made sauce & meatballs this morning. Now getting ready to go out on this rainy day to look for something for my daughter to give grandma for her birthday which is New Years Eve and she's turning 81. Then stopping at supermarket for a few items.

Did a little seed shopping today from Baker Creek (for the rare varieties) and Botanical Interests (got great coupons running). Got some peppers, lettuce, cukes and trying a Chinese eggplant. Also got French marigold seeds. With more to come next month.

Good Monday morning all. Currently -4°C and raining. I woke in the middle of the night to howling winds and a weird banging noise. The back screen door was unhooked and slamming in the wind. I pulled it closed and latched it, I hope it didn't do too much damage. I'll assess when it gets light outside.
Weatherman is calling for rain today, so it looks like I'm limited to inside chores again. I'll continue on the basement project I guess, maybe I'll go and look for some paint samples.
Have a great day all :)

    Netty—I’ll second what Pac said.

Good day all. Shopping is on the schedule today. Getting all the goodies in for tomorrow night’s celebration. Lots of terrible little snackkies.
