The snow has ended here. Got about 7" is was the light and fluffy kind so clean up was easy. Road were fine coming in to work and there was less traffic with today being Martin Luther King Jr day a federal holiday here in the states.

    Good morning everyone.
I had a really awful night, despite taking the stronger meds. I'm so tired that even a slight breeze could knock me over.!! I so need some good quality rest.

I have to negotiate getting into the car this morning as I have a Wound Clinic app followed by Physiotherapy...and I really don't have the energy for either. Yuk day ahead.:(:crying:

I feel sorry for you @marlingardener ,I suppose you can't really avoid the news....it was even difficult here too with our main channel pumping out a seemingly non stop coverage. We just kept everything switch off in the end.

Wishing you all a lovely day.:)

@Oreti Have you tried protein shakes my surgeon recommended them. My doc also administered blood tests to check for vitamin deficiencies & iron pills for combating weakness after surgery . Drinking water is essential to prevent dehydration.

A good quality sleep is recommend . Your doctor will advise and provide a temporary RX to assist the rest you need for a good recovery.

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently -17°C and clear. 2 more days of cold to go.
My shelving came yesterday, and I put it together quickly before heading to the rink yesterday. Today's job is filling it with all my home canning and jars. That should clear up most of the floor space so that the exercise equipment can be moved from the other side and the rest of the 'stuff' cleared out. Progress!! I also have a dentist appointment today.
Have a great day all :)

Oreti— sorry to hear about that bad night. I hope that you can sleep well tonight. Get your man to sing you a lullaby tonight. ;)

Netty—Were you happy with your shelves? It is getting close to “Showtimmmmmme” now, isn’t it. Well, in the basement at any rate.

Getting ready for a little do here soon. Planning and ordering done today.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently -22°C and clear. We've been for our (shortened) dog walk ... BRRRR!
I think last night was the coldest one, and now the temperatures start to rise over the next few days and get back to 'normal'. We do have to trade the cold for snow though, and with my new snowplow on standby, I'm ok with that.
I had my long awaited dentist appointment yesterday, and will have to go back for a couple fillings in a few weeks. I have been grinding my teeth at night, I knew this, but my dentist was horrified and so there is a mouth guard on the way. I've apparently been doing some damage to my teeth from the grinding, and I hope this helps. Anyone else get annoyed with the lecture dentists give you?
Today I hope to get the exercise equipment cleaned and moved into place. This should free up space in the other half so that I can get the rest of the 'stuff' put away. Slowly but surely I am getting that space finished!
Have a great day all :)

Jeepers-creepers, you guys have it cold there. Burrrrrr. I’ll just zip my gob shut and not complain about our -1°C

Nice snow scene, Clay. It really is beautiful.

Netty— good to hear that the basement project really is at an important stage now.
Yeah, dental and medical lectures are not nice to listen to. You know what though— I used to be one of those lecturers.
    Hahaha. Oh dear.

Snow scenes are so peaceful and quite calming. Until ya gotta shovel or drive in it. Thermal clothing is appropriate for winter fun and enjoying the environment.
The pros and cons of snow fall …I hope the snow stays up in the mountains of the cascade mountain range and other water sheds that feed thru to western Oregon that have more snow fall this season than previous years.

Hoping the snow fall rates continue. That could mean western Oregon may not experrience the new climate change season called Fire season. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:.

We've been faced with this at some of the grocery stores in my town.

    IMG_0677.jpeg

That's the egg rack. Not every store every time, but often enough to be worth watching and buy a dozen when I find them. Plus, the price!

My hens have been moulting for a couple of months, so no home eggs. Two days ago, I found one. And today -

    I'm happy about that. :)

Eggs are a major source of protein for me. This is something to smile about.

I feel nervous now if I see birds in the chicken area. No avian flu, please!

Good Thursday morning all. Currently -10°C and mostly cloudy. Its a lot more bearable out there this morning, so Thunder will get a regular walk.
Its Thursday, so that means its errand and shopping day. Our fridge is rather bare, and even Thunder is out of food so it will be a big shopping day.
I'm not sure what the sign says @Daniel W , but I know that we currently an egg recall due to salmonella concerns. My last batch was not included in the recall, but I hope i am able to buy some today. We also eat a lot of eggs.
I slept through my first night with my tooth guard. It went surprisingly well, and my teeth don't hurt half as much this morning. I'm not sure how this is going to stop my tooth grinding, but I guess it at least prevents any more damage.
Off to walk the dog. Have a great day all :)

Daniel— oh, those are good ones. I hope you do not have problems with bird flu. I have concerns in the lottie as well, as I feed the bird and provide drinking water for them. I am a bit concerned with murmuration season getting closer here.

I will stay at home again today (the groceries [I just discovered this new word] were delivered yesterday, so I didn’t go out). Now today we have to do some cooking. We will make a huge batch of chilli and will need to be around to stir it frequently as it pruttles.

Good Friday morning all. Currently -10°C and overcast.
I'm having my coffee pondering my day. I have a few things I need to do outside, and a few things to finish inside. I also have someone coming to pick up a food dehydrator that I listed on marketplace, and an outgoing package being picked up at some point. I think it's going to be a 'puttering' kind of day.
I gave Thunder a pig ear to chew on to keep him occupied while I drink my coffee. He doesn't know what to do with it, and is wandering around with it in his mouth whining. Silly boy
Have a great day all :)
