I thought it might be an idea to include a video Zigs made of my efforts at creating some flower beds on the camping site here. I promised myself that one day, when I got old, I would give up the camping business and dig all the land up just to grow stuff.
This was the beginning of the new venture. Not sure about the choice of music :worried:

Thanks for your reply Annie, I'm hoping to get some more snaps of the beds when they actually start growing well (if the sun ever comes out again) I need to assess where the gaps are that might need filling, as bad weather and some neglect have taken their toll over the last couple of years. I lost all the dahlias for starters, as well as a few other plants. Never mind, it just means the housekeeping money will just have to be spent at the nursery again :smt041......:scheming:

Are you going to replace the dahlias with tubers or those lovely little seed grown varieties? I want to grow dahlias from seed next year, if I remember !! o_O

I have grown them from seed before. I chose ''Bishops Children'' because they are neat and low growing and single flowers which are more attractive to bees etc.
This time though I think I'll see if I can get some tubers to start off in pots. April is a good time to do that here, and it's best to plant them out in May or June when there is little risk of frost. I love Dahlias. My granddaughter in Tasmania grows prize ones, and has a good supply of customers for them too!
