Anna’s hummingbirds live in my garden all year . I caught a glimpse of their courtship .
In the first pic at the feeder the male Anna has his throat feathers flared.
In the second pic the Anna female’s very top of her head is barely seen thru the bottom clear section of the liquid of the feeder.

    Excellent @Pacnorwest :)

We put seed out for our birds and fat balls over the winter, but we don't get Humminbirds here.

I buy flowers cause it says they attract hummingbirds. My neighbors get them all the time. I never saw one in my entire life. While I am at it, I throw peanuts all over for the blue jays, they love them. I sit and watch them swoop down, pick them up in their little beaks and fly off to eat them. Cept if the squirrels find them, it seems like the bluejays stop landing. Are bluejays afraid of squirrels ? I thought blue jays were pretty bold.

They fly so fast, they look like a big bug flying past, so you wouldn't notice them, but if you put up a feeder and keep it fresh and clean, you will see them all the time !!

I thought they hovered near flowers to get pollen ? Anyway, I used to hang 4 feeders for birds until I got sick of all the bird crap, and I still never saw one. IDK Annie, I just think your trying to start trouble.
