This is the second year that I am growing this type of Courgette. Last year I fashioned a sort of "Stairway to the Stars" type of support. It was like a rainbow with a plant at either end.
This year I am simply using a rack to see if there is any difference.
I wrap twine (suspended from the cross-beam) around their 'vine' and let them support their own weight until they reach the top of the sturdy frame.
I also have a piece of laundry line about halfway up the sticks sort of as a back-up should the twine fail for some reason.
I particularly like the slight difference in flavour in these courgettes and I like their shape.
One advantage of growing the climbers is that the ends of the fruits never touch the ground and go all soft and squishy.
The day that I tied them up...a pretty sad-looking group of plants, real "Ugly Ducklings".

One week later they have recovered and are really taking off. The "vines" grew about 10 inches.

Looks like your rack is working, even though it's not a rainbow. :D

LOL, I gotta get some help with my tendancy to misread things. I thought you wrote "cougarette" and was expecting to see pictures of a lady cougar! Oh, Mary, old before my time!
    Great idea there!
