The snowman collection made me smile so much, I decided to share one shot of my little miniature churches collection that has been brought out for Christmas... do any of you have any other little collections on display around your home? (Christmas or otherwise!)

I like the one on the bottom left best as it looks a bit like our village church. :-D
I don't have collections of anything really around the house - well maybe a few owls and a few mushrooms but only a few. I collect plants in the garden though.

Hi Prim, I love the churches. I collect Santas and angels. I will try to get DD to take a pic if I even get them out this year. Very little room and with Basil I am afraid to chance it.

Well, you all know about my bears. There are also cans and old tins, mostly coffee and tea. Probably DR and I have more collections of things than most people. We used to collect oriental porcelein but not so much any more. We only have a few pieces. I used to collect teapots and green depression glass. I downsized those when we moved to Arizona. I also had baskets. Little bears sit very well in baskets. DR likes old pottery and has some Indian pots and some Chinese ones. Mostly it's whatever strikes our eye when we are out and around. Well, I wouldn't call it a little collection but for most of the 18 years I was a quilt maker I collected snowflake print fabrics. Counting the Batik prints I sold last year, the largest that collection got was over 230 pieces of fabric (ranging from 1/4 yard to 1 yard) of different snowflake prints.

I finally realized that I don't have room for collections and I hate having to dust them so I stopped collecting things.

I know what you mean about them taking up space or needing dusting - I think that is part of why I only collect little things that are easily packed away. The churches only come out for Christmas and Easter, but I have a miniature garden in my hutch year-round.

I used to collect buttons - sold my old political ones and just gave away the rest after a while... then it was novelty whistles (I still have a wooden box of them under the bed, should sell them too) - then unusual Fisher-Price Little People (hey, the kids can play with my collection - no problem!). I seem to collect just a couple things at a time, then sell or give them away and move on. The fun is mostly in the 'treasure hunt' of the collecting!

The only spendy things I've ever collected are some of my Tolkien items - they're very nice, though... jewelry replicas, sculptures, illustrations and such. I still try to avoid anything that is both spendy and breakable. Having to worry about it takes the fun out.

I love your church collection. I don't collect anything. Good thing, because any collection was lost 15 months ago. My mother collects buttons and my father's mother did before her. My dad played with the buttons in the button box, my brother and I did, my niece did and now her 4 yo asks for the button box every time he visits his great grandparents. They are just buttons, from huge to tiny, but what wonderful toys they can make.

I like your church collection too Primsong. I have a church candle that looks like your bottom left church. It only comes out a Christmas.
I have a small collection of old bottles, most of which were dug out of my (old)yard. (I'd take a picture for you but my camera is still missing)
I guess I also collect plants!

I love the church collection. As I already posted my snowmen collection you know I collect them. I also collect antique linens and various antique dishes - whatever catches my eye at the time.

Very nice collection! I have gathered and catalogued the largest ever collection of dust. From the ubiquitous Ceiling Fan Dust to the much sought-after Dust from the Corner of the Third Step of the Staircase (notable because of the inclusion of a clump of hair from the now-departed white dog Lily), it's quite a collection to behold. My lawyers have advised me not to post images of it on the internet for liability reasons so, alas, I cannot share the awesome sight.
