"We are trying to develop reporter plants that will tell us what they're experiencing at the moment," Bacheva said. These include pigment-based plants that change color, or fluorescent plants that light up when they need water. The ultimate vision is to have bidirectional communication, so not only could a reporter plant communicate that it needs water, a farmer might also inform a plant that it could be dry for many days and the plant should use water more efficiently." SOoo weird and cool, imo. Here is the article: https://phys.org/news/2025-04-century-mystery-communication-stress-negative.amp
I genuinely think and by the year 2030 (just 5 years away). A lot would have changed in our world. And by 2045, everything would have changed so much, that we would look back at these present times as the dark ages. Such is the promise of emerging technologies, that will be assisted by AI. Or, we would end up killing ourselves long before such a golden age arrives... Both things are equally likely to happen. However the absolute worst thing won't be one scenario or another - But if both ended up happening together at the same time!
I fail to see the changes in our world as 'promising' in any way. New 'technologies' now, as far as I'm concerned are a major scourge on mankind. We were given a perfect planet on which to live, where everything took care of itself. All our needs were supplied for us, and all we had to do was nurture what we had, and be thankful for it. Too many humans appear to think that they can improve on God's gift to us. How arrogant and stupid! AI will assist our downfall.
