A whole week without any rain! But it has been cold though. The last 3 mornings it has been down around 18 deg F.
We had everything thrown at us this last week, snow, hail, rain, severe frosts, gales ans even a tiny bit of sunshine. I'm glad the rain has stayed away for you CK. :-D
Well Captain, if that is coming this way, there may not be a chance for the cornfield to go outside. I just looked at the 10 day weather forecast, next weekend does not look promising. Jerry
from what i can tell the uk is in for a bit of a battering from today. don't know how much of it i'll see on the east coast but it doesn't look good. i hope my uk friends stay safe
UHHHH, Rain .....again for the next several days in the forecast. pretty soon though, it will be ssssssnow. Which I am not sure which I would rather have. Rain means it isn't as cold, but snow means driving hazards (aka, other drivers) on the road. Red at night a sailors delight: red in the morning sailors take warning..... Tuesday am sunrise 12/13/11 ( photo / image / picture from carolyn keiper's Garden ) Sunrise 12/13/11 ( photo / image / picture from carolyn keiper's Garden ) I wish I could capture the exact color of the sunrise. It is just a glorious color.
Cap'n, I'm so glad you are drying out! Carolyn, rain doesn't have to be shoveled, either. And for all of you in the UK, I do hope that the weather isn't a problem. On the other hand, we have rain in the forecast for seven days! That is an early holiday gift for us in Texas--even if we get rain for just two or three days, it will be a blessing.
Yesterday was beautiful, today won't be bad. Tomorrow rain, but Thursday a high of 10°C. This isn't Christmas weather.
Hey Capt. Glad to hear you are drying out.I'm sure your ground is saturated and the roots have received all the moisture they need. Now you need a good blanket of snow to cover and insulate. Carolyn, I hope your rains stop! Seems like you guys are soaked! My in-laws live in Cincinnati, and we have heard of the record rains. Here in Nebraska, we had snow after a long spell of dry weather. Now the snow is melting, and the forecast is for rain because the temps aren't quite so cold. We may even possibly have thundershowers! One thing for sure, the weather can never be perfect anywhere for long!
The last I heard, we were at 14 inches of rain above normal for the year! And close to setting a new record for total rain fall for the year.
So much for being dry! We got about 3/4 of an inch again last night. But the worst is over with for now where I am at. But they say more rain for Mon. and Tues.
