Pear trees come in a wide variety of types and flavors used for fresh and canned fruit, juice, jams and jellies. The Bartlett is an old stand-by but is more rust prone than newer varieties. Root stock determines the over-all size of the tree which typically come in standard, semi-dwarf and dwarf.
