I find this to be too aggressive and less drought tolerant than the Allegheny. I have proof in the 2010 NE US summer drought. Otherwise, a common cover that is more attractive than vinca.

Grown more for its evergreen foliage than the small flowers.

It takes little watering, has pretty foliage, and small but bright flowers. However, it is a headache to weed the pachysandra patch.

Pachysandra is great in the right spot: a place where it can grow without causing headaches for th gardener. It is quite aggressive and difficult to contain.
