I would not recommend this plant to beginners. For one thing, the seedlings are so tiny. They are extremely challenging to handle when thinning out. Also grows extremely slow. Needs that hot hot heat. I will try a different coleus next year. The colors have not thrilled me. I have heard that you can get better color out of coleus if you grow them in the shade. I tried moving my planter in the shade and I noticed a slight difference.
