From what I have read this daffodil has been sold and passed-along for centuries (has been dated pre 1620, registered with the RHS). Each country seems to have had plantsman give this bulb a name.

I have found it to be exceptionally tough and it multiplies. Where other daffodils can't even survive my neglect and soil stabbing this one has reproduced easily. One of the saving properties of this bulb is the fact that it is an earlier bloomer. Its leaves have faded in time for me to mow and it has formed more bulbs.

Because this is such an old variety it isn't commonly sold which is a shame. The bloom is generally golden yellow with lots of doubling in the trumpet.
