Description: Chicks will naturally perch (on top of the waterer was a favorite place) but they need to learn to perch high. My wonderful and oh-so-patient husband installed a perch about 18" off the ground so the little ones would have a reachable perch. This perch will be raised as they mature until it is about 3' off the ground. By that time they will have a high perch in the rafters for nighttime safety. Each inside coop has three levels of perches. They also have a fan for summer and a heat lamp for winter, but that's another story . . . .
