Description: Variegated shell ginger grows quite tall and has an upright habit. The leaves are strikingly variegated with irregular stripes of green and yellow. The flowers are white, tipped in pink, and look like little seashells. They are borne in long pendant arches. The flowers will only appear on old growth. This plant is tolerant of a wide range of light conditions from light shade to full sun, so long as there is adequate moisture, but part shade is ideal.
