It is my understanding that this species is NOT a good choice for those who wish to provide a food source for Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly larvae (Battus philenor), as it is apparently toxic to them.
There are a number of other species of Aristolochia which are suitable for butterfly gardens, and it is worth doing research to avoid mistakes. |
