Three of my tomato plants are wilting and leaves turning brown. They have already set fruit. What did I do wrong? There are 6 reasons for wilting in the south, but I don't know which one it is. NO pests in sight. I wonder if I overfertilized. Gardengater
I would try cutting off some of the dying leaves. That way all the nutriance the plant is getting will go to the fruit and the rest of the plant. If you over fertilized you could have fried the roots and that is why is it wilting, but I would try this and see if you can save the plant. Good luck!
Could you send some fotos of your plant Mizz Gater? Some from a short distance and some closeups of the leaves and stems. It might help to give us some ideas of what's going wrong.
Okay, I'll do that tomorrow. It's evening here now. I don't think it's bacterial or fus....whatever that is. Some of the leaves are perfectly all right. I'd love to be able to save them. Carol
I think gater that it's the Magnesium but this is just a guess cause my Better Bush although impressive in size and in fruit yield is doing the same thing. I read up on it and it's the only thing I can think of. I read the bag of potting soil I used and it has nitrogen,iron and potash but no manganese. I got some miracle gr* tom fertilizer which has magnesium in it and used it tonight. I will keep you posted.
