My tomato plant is wilting and leaves turning brown. Here is a photo. It's been suggested to cut off brown leaves. Some of the plant is okay. Gardengater
I would go along with the suggestion to get rid of those brown leaves--they are not functioning and helping the plant anyway. besides with them left on there and not knowing the cause, they could be a reservoir for disease. Be sure to isolate those leaves and throw them in the trash or burn them. Keep them out of your compost heap. How often are you giving your toms water, BTW? This is a most curious problem.
I have done that. I tend to think overfertilization. Watering almost every day. Haven't seen any pests or oozing of any kind. Let you know what happens. Thanks Gardengater
Well gater I put the miracle grow tom fertilizer on my plant that was doing the same as yours and it came back to life. I think it may have been either 1. because the plant is in a container it may have used all of the 21-7-14 fertilizer that was premixed with the soil or 2. It didn't have any magnesium.
It may be from to much water are watering at the bottom og the plant and them the leaves will scald.Try watering just on the dirt around the plant and none on the plant.By all means remove the brown leaves.
