I have a great dark walnut dining table. Very plain design. I just found these great Cherry wood chairs. Can I mix dark walnut wood with cherry wood?
When it comes to decorating..I use the...if I like it then it works! If you like the look then do it! I am not into matchy matchy and love mixing new and old ...coordinating but never matching.
Yes, you can mix dark walnut with cherry wood. Remember, all trees grow in the forest and a room with more than one wood color can be very interesting (I wouldn't go too far with mixtures though). Since your table is dark walnut, and the chairs are cherry, you might consider finding a wood tray or bowl made of the same cherry wood color to place in the center of the table. This would tie it all together nicely.
Absolutely yes. I build furniture, and always suggest "blending" different types of wood when designing a space. Too much of one wood may become monotonous.
