Gosh I love most veggies. Due to space constraints I cannot grow much myself, but I love broccolli, butternuts, chillis (various varieties) and teh rest I have to buy from the market.
I like 'em all, too! But we just picked a bunch of fiddleheads last month. Even froze some for some cold, dark winter night. Such a delicacy...
I love vegetables with only two exceptions- lima beans and okra. If I had to choose favorites it would be tomatoes, asparagus, any salad greens. I am enjoying rocket from the garden right now. (I may be wrong in including that- some of my books call it an herb and others call it a veggie. Either way- its nutty flavor is so yummy in a salad.)
hahaha ya can tell griphook is from the south !..lol with those purple -hull peas .gosh those are good !
I hope i'm right in this, a fiddlehead is an unfurlerd fern leaf. This might help explain? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiddlehead
Oh my I never knew that it was edible. It just shows how little I know! Unfortunately we only have the bracken ferns here. Thanks for the information - The Stew is amazing - here I learn something new again.
I would have to say onions, lettuce, peas, maters & garlic for the top 5. lol We had plenty of peas this yr, but none got cooked. They are so much better raw.
The spud or potato. Not the easiest to grow well, but is so adaptable to the table. Any time i leave Ireland, once I set foot in another country, I immediately crave spuds.
I like, make that LOVE green beans We also use a lot of garlic and onions. I've never grown cabbage but I love it raw in salads. My husband really likes fresh carrots with butter, not too crisp but not too mushy either (I've spoiled him) Deanna :-D
Geeze, what a hard question for a vegetarian to answer! Tomatoes make me the happiest when they're mine, but I love it all! Carrots, celery, brussel sprouts, beans, taters, peppers, okra, broccoli, cabbage, squash you name it. The only thing I don't like is cooked peas (unless they're in a pod) and cucumbers. For some freakish reason I love dill pickles, but unadulterated cukes make me vomit... seriously.
