I only have a small patio to work with and would like to plant some cutting flowers in containers. I was wondering if anybody had some suggestions of what types of cutting flowers would do well in containers. Thanks.
Deanna took the words right out of my mouth I have hoy's in baskets.I sure would hate to cut the blooms but they do well in bouquets.African daisies would do well I think.
You can successfully grow Sweet Peas in containers, using a wig-wam of bamboo poles. These plants demand their flowers to be picked because if just one turns to seed, the whole plant dies off.
I would suggest any of the tallish Chrysanthemums (they come in all colours). Just be sure to nip out the growing point when you have 3-4 sets of leaves and wait. You will have an abundance of cutting flowers to use in your home...and they last a long time after cutting too.
Thanks so much for all the suggestions. I'm so excited at the thought of having fresh flowers in my house from my very own garden next year.
