Finally my first vege from my garden. hopefully they'll be more zucchini where this come from. Also waiting on the butternut squash, acorn squash, small seedless watermelon & the peas. With the weather not cooperating in the spring, our garden was put in late. So at this point I'll have to take anything I can get. We still have all of August to go too.
And a great looking first vegie it is too. The only way my family likes zucchini is shredded in muffins, how do you prepare yours?
Thanks Toni. We shred it up and make bread. muffins would be good too. Sometimes I slice them and fry it in a pan.
Well that's certainly a zucchini to be proud of Petunia. I hope everything else from your garden is just as good.
For a late start, that is one fine veggie. I bet its going to taste even better! well done. Since our season really doesn't do much until late June, ours is just starting to get going, but will produce until Oct. Your at a waaayyy lower latitude than i am, how long is your growing season. i get broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, beets, cabbage and potatoes all the way until Oct. Hopefully since you got a late start your season will go as long or longer.
very nice one petunia, see most of yall never mention frying . ya know us in the south we fry everything ...lol
i like courgettes/zuccini diced quite small and thrown in with pasta it cooks so quickly literally a minute or two in the sauce but only the fresh off the plant ones give that wonderful flavour i saw it yesterday on a cookery programme deepfried in tempura batter they can coat the flowers in the tempura and cook thsoe apparently thats delicious also i have not tried tempura apparently its hard to perfectneeds ice cold sparkling water to make up
That's a beauty, Petunia. I like the looks of it and of course there'll be lots more to come. Be sure to show piccies of the other veg as it is harvested. Well done.
