I am clueless as an interior designer. I inherited some incredibly beautiful pieces of solid rosewood danish modern that I need to now pick a floor for. Any experts out there who can offer some advice or observations about what choices I should make? Should I go with matching, or contrasting?
Hi maiforpeace, I'm no interior design expert but if I had the choice I would go for contrasting. Is it possible to see the furniture in its current environment?
I wish. My camera is on the fritz at the moment. I'm going to try to borrow one, in the meantime I am laying the samples all over my furniture to get a good idea. I can see already that contrast is the way to go - thank you Frank!
I would go with a light color. You want your furniture to be the focal point and really show up. Is it possible for you to bring some samples home from the store that you will be purchasing from. Some of the stores have this service. It wouldn't hurt to ask! Good luck with your choice.
If it were me I would go with a light color. I've looked at furniture sets with both matching floors and contrasting floors and the light flooring definitely causes the rosewood to stand out beautifully.
