Reference my earlier posting, I have not got this Photobucket-thing correct as yet. How is this? http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f93/e ... illary.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f93/e ... illary.jpg
Oh, okay, then yes you have them named correctly according to the referrence book I have. I thought you might have been looking for info on their feeding habits, etc and that my book doesn't include Welcome to GardenStew by the way, hope you stay around for a long while.
Welcome Welcome from coastal Carolina, essentuki! We're glad to have new friends come along. What part of the Caucasus Mtns. are you from? You'll get the hang of Photobucket, I certainly had my problems too. :sete_060: Let us know what you grow there in the mountains. Gardengater
Re: Welcome Many, many thanks for the welcome. I am a British ex-pat, lived in Cyprus for 12 years after taking early retirement and moved to the Caucasus Mountains 5 years ago after marrying Olga, my Russian princess I live in the Town of Essentuki which is located in the mountain foothills, El Brus, the highest mountain in Europe is visible from my town when conditions are clear; it's 40 kilometres away as the crow flies. I am a very keen birdwatcher, bird-ringer [bander to our US friends], digiscoper and general nature lover. Unfortunately I am NOT a gardener, never have been although whilst in Cyprus one year I won the best-kept-garden competition. Bought a new Nikon Coolpix P80 and getting my hand in taking photographs of butterflies and other insects, hence my post. Best regards, Jeff Gordon.
We love photos of wildlife too, Jeff. My family is originally from Slovakia and I've been in the High Tatras. Are your mountains similar? They were gorgeous. I treasured picures of the light shining through the trees and waterfalls. Gardengater
Here is a photograph of part of the Caucasus in June 2006. http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f93/e ... Dombai.jpg Must get to know how to include a thumbnail here instead of an Internet link! Regards, Jeff Gordon.

That mountain photo is breathtaking. I will post some of my Europe photos as soon as I figure out how. I liked the cicada? Thanks for the photos. Gardengater
Jeff welcome to the Stew from east Texas. The photo of the mountain is breathtaking. We love pictures of anything and everything, so jump right in and post away.
Thought that you might like to see some more of the mountain scenes [also to see if I have got this Photobucket-thing sorted out]. Here is my little dog Pipit enjoying the mountains at 3000 metres. Best regards, Jeff Gordon.
Here is another butterfly, the Comma, common in my region of the Caucasus Mountains. Regards, Jeff Gordon.
