I was out front working to get ready to scrub the front deck down with bleach water, in preparation for putting a coat of stain on it. I had the bleach in the bucket, about 2 gal of water in it. Had the scrub brush out there. All I needed to do was strectch out the garden hose so I could rinse it off after I had scrubbed it. So I started to unwind the hose off the reel and this tree frog jumped off of it and landed on my face. I screamed, was digging at my face and I thought my defibrilator was gonna go off! It didn't, but I think the poor frog could have used one!
At first I expected you to say that you unwound the hose and ended up grabbing a snake. But a frog attaching itself to your face is bad enough. My ex- (my oldest daughter's dad) is having a defibrilator 'installed', as he called it, this week. He only has one chamber still working.
What an unexpected surprise! Did you get to scrub your deck or did you have to quit for the day to get your heart rate back where it belongs? Hope the frog survived as well. dooley
My goodness! I would have had a heart attack! Thank God you are okay. I bet it scared the frog as well.
What a surprise so early in the morning.I'm sure that would have done my old ticker in.It would have scared me to death.
And I trust you're fine too. Poor both of you, shocks like that aren't good for anybody. I frequently get pounced on when weeding, but those are furry things with teeth and claws.
Well one time I was coming through the hall, and saw something out of the corner of my eye just inches from my head that gave my heart a start . . . (it turned out to be a mosquito hawk with a rather large dustbunny attached to his leg crawing up the corner of a wall in my living room,) I felt sort of sheepish afterwards . . . but it scared the livin' daylights out of me. (Plus it prompted me to dust my corners for cobwebbs) lol
Definately not a nice experience and I'm pleased to hear that you're OK. I have to admit though that I smiled at the thought of you screaming and clawing at your face!!! Sorry.
I ;aughed my butt off when I saw it was only a tree frog! I think it was the same one I took a pic of about a month ago. He was getting back at me!
I got it all scrubbed. I am going to stain it on Thurs. If we get rain, I'll do it on Friday. Then that will only leave one job left on my honeydo list. I'll do the last one in Sept or Oct. after it starts to cool off.
Phewie, I was also half expected to read that you had grabbed a snake instead of the hose. Glad you are both okay and the deck is shiney and clean.
